The Eclectic Scent Maker
My name is Justine Crane and I am a seasoned natural perfumer, an educator in natural perfume, an incenseur, soapmaker, body balm, and butter maker. I practice the art(s) of enfleurage, distillation, and potions' making. When I can, I create the materials used in my shop, from the organic apple cider vinegar used in natural cleansers, to the extracts, enfleurage pomades, tinctures, and infusions used in perfume and skincare.
In 1996 I started a little incense and soap shop called "Sierra Soapourri". In 2004, after years of study in blending essential oils, absolutes, floral waxes, and other aromatics to create beautifully scented soaps, body oils, and body butter, I opened a brick and mortar shop in the historic Tower District in Fresno, CA, and began studying natural perfumery in earnest. In 2008, with a few years of perfumery technique under my belt, I opened The Scented Djinn, a natural perfume-focused shop. I also reinvigorated my love of incense when I embarked upon a journey with the transcendent Kyphi. The years of experience in perfumery have lent themselves well to the current incarnation of The Scented Djinn as an eclectic scent maker and experimental scent studio.
