This was my second order from this seller, and I'll be back next year for more!
About
Sewing for A Life Time
Welcome to my shop, The Sewing Gin. I am from the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, MO. My love for sewing started at an early age with the help of my Grandmother and Mother.
I received my degree in H.E. and Business from Kansas State University and went to work for The Singer Co. as fabric dept. manager. Later I became Regional Sewing Educator and travelled 7 states, training sewing teachers, developing classes, and doing fashion shows. I had a wonderful baby boy and couldn’t travel anymore, so opened my own Singer dealership and fabric store. The name: The Sewing Gin. I loved it. Being my own boss and doing what I loved.
Five years later decided to get out of the rat race and live a simpler life so moved to the Ozarks to run a resort and marina. It was fun for awhile, but not my first love. A lot of work and not much money. I started sewing home décor crafts and selling them wholesale to the country stores at the lake. After hundreds of teddy bears, chair cushions, placemats, etc., decided I needed to get back in touch with the world, so became a realtor.
Twenty years later, I decided to retire and get back to my first love, sewing. One problem, I decided I don’t have enough years left on earth to get all I have accumulated sewn up, and they say you can’t take it with you.
I was so happy to find Etsy and there was a market for vintage sewing items and new handmade items. The Sewing Gin is reborn again. I will be continually adding items, so check back regularly to see what I’ve decided to let go or sewn anew. I still love it all and I hope you will find something you can love too.

It’s my pleasure to help you.
Pattern sizes have changed over the years, so be sure and check the measurements. I will display the back of the pattern for your convenience. Pattern prices vary depending on condition, age, and popularity. I try to give very accurate descriptions so you know if they have been cut. If cut, I will check and make sure all the pieces are there. Those with allergies should remember these are older patterns and fabrics. Our homes have been pet free, but the stash has been moved and stored several times over the years.
Please send me a convo if you have any questions or concerns.
