About

The Making of a Silly Auntie

The girl was a doodler. She would draw in any margin, on any paper. She would braid embroidery floss into bracelets for her friends. She tried to sew. She tried to bead. She tried to knit. As she grew other concerns of life took over her day to day affairs. There was schoolwork to finish, a part time job after class, hanging out with friends over coffee. The girl still loved crafts, but she no longer produced any.

She loved her niece before she met her. Holding the infant for the first time, the new auntie smiled. The baby grew quickly. Her auntie showed her how to doodle. They colored on pages, they colored on side walks, they drew story books. She showed her how to make bracelets. She showed her how to sew. She showed her how to bead.

After years of arts and crafts she decided one night to finally get back into making things. She decided she would learn new crafts. More importantly, she decided she was going to dedicate her time and love of crafting to make things that other people would love to wear or use as much as she did.
