Bringing Violet Home! A shop with an evolving Purpose
Iniziato su sollecitazione di amici e clienti di fiere dell'artigianato, il mio negozio è iniziato come un modo per continuare a vendere tra le fiere e per compensare gli spettacoli persi quando mio figlio era troppo piccolo per stare senza di me. Negli anni successivi, si è evoluto in molto di più.
Diversi anni fa io e mio marito abbiamo deciso di adottare una bambina con bisogni speciali dalla Cina. Sapendo che questa sarebbe stata un'avventura molto costosa, abbiamo iniziato a raccogliere fondi in tutti i modi in cui potevamo pensare, vendita di garage, . Il passo naturale successivo è stato quello di impegnare il 100% dei profitti del mio negozio per portare a casa nostra figlia.
Finalmente abbiamo la nostra casa Viola, e la fine delle bollette e dei prestiti di adozione sono quasi in vista. Questo viaggio non sarebbe stato possibile senza etsy e tutti i clienti divertenti, generosi e premurosi che non solo hanno acquistato le nostre creazioni, ma ci hanno incoraggiato lungo la strada.
Dopo aver visto accadere così tante cose incredibili attraverso etsy per la nostra adozione e dopo aver ascoltato così tante altre storie di adozione ispiratrici da parte dei clienti, che a loro volta erano stati toccati dall'adozione, abbiamo deciso che anche dopo che tutte le nostre fatture di adiotion personale sono state pagate, continueremo a impegnare una parte dei nostri proventi in meritevoli enti di beneficenza relativi all'adozione che sono diventati cari ai nostri cuori e hanno fatto così tanto per noi durante la nostra avventura di adozione!
Started at the urging of friends and craft fair customers, my shop began as just a way to keep selling between fairs and to make up for the missed shows when my son was too small to be without me. Over the following years, it evolved in to so much more.
Several years ago my husband and I decided to adopt a little girl with special needs from China. Knowing this was going to be a very expensive adventure, we started fundraising in all the ways we could think of, garage sale, . The next natural step was to commit 100% of the profits from my shop to bringing our daughter home.
We finally have our Violet home, and the end of the bills and adoption loans are nearly in sight. This journey would not have been possible without etsy and all of the fun, generous and thoughtful customers who have not just purchased our creations, but encouraged us along the way.
After seeing so many amazing things happen through etsy for our adoption and after hearing so many other inspiring adoption stories from customers, who themselves had been touched by adoption, we have decided that even after all of our personal adiotion bills are paid, we will continue to commit a portion of our proceeds to deserving adoption related charities that became dear to our hearts and did so much for us during our adoption adventure!
