A Little Polkadot Love

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved paper and stationery. I have had a stationery stash for as long as I can remember. I loved bringing home a new set of dollar-store stationery after a shopping trip with my Mom and Nana. My favorites were the ones that came with coordinating boxes. Today, things aren't much different. I still love stationery (and yes, sometimes from the dollar store), I am passionate about paper and design, and I love to design stationery and print it on pretty paper.

Out of high school, I went to college to become a graphic designer. I'd never taken an art class in my life, but I knew this was my calling. I designed invitations and cards throughout college and planned fun parties for my friends. As I set out into the world, aside from my full-time design job, I designed invitations for friends, for myself, and then for people I didn't even know. My love of stationery was rekindled with these side jobs and I decided to go into business as The Speckled Duck.

The Speckled Duck comes from drawing a cursive S as a child, that my Nana taught me to make into a duck. In college it became a logo for a fictitious company, and then my own business logo.

Fast forward years later and I get to design lots of stationery as a work-at-home-mom. Sometime last year, something changed. The Speckled Duck brand has done so well for me, but I was reaching some limitations of the brand and I wanted to go farther. I needed something that was unmistakably paper. Without a doubt, The Speckled Duck became the Polkadot Paper Company.

I am so excited to share my passion for design and my love of paper and sending mail. My designs include lots of polkadots (imagine that!), hand-drawn illustrations, and patterns mixed in with some of my favorite typefaces. I'm looking forward to creating something fun for you!

Welcome to the Polkadot Paper Company! I am Paula, a designer and a mom who is passionate about two things – her family and great design. The Polkadot Paper Company was created for my love of designing pretty things and the dream of working from home to watch my little ones grow up. I have an amazing husband and sons, and a wonderful support system of family and friends. I am surrounded daily with creative talent and success-minded people.

All of my designs and illustrations are my own, you'll find no clip-art or stock vector work here. Each order is carefully designed, folded, stuffed, packaged and mailed by me and ships straight to you from the beautiful Austin, Texas.

I accept payment through Etsy's direct checkout system, which you can use a debit or credit card. PayPal payments are also accepted.

Echecks processed through PayPal must be cleared before your order will be printed or shipped. This usually takes an additional 5 days to clear.
All of our shipping is done via the US Postal Service. Most items are shipped First Class Mail from Austin, Texas. Most locations will receive packages within 5 business days. Some orders will be shipped via Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes when the cost is less than or equal to First Class Mail.

If you have a rush order and would like additional shipping options, please convo me before placing your order. I am happy to accommodate Priority or Express Mail.

When using a Free Shipping Coupon code, your items will be shipped via the most economical shipping rate.

Shipping includes a flat rate insurance. If you would like to include additional insurance on any order, please convo me to set this up prior to purchasing the listing. The Polkadot Paper Company will safely pack all items, but cannot be responsible for damages made during shipping.

Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred for international shipments.

All orders will be shipped to the address listed on your Etsy receipt.
Refunds and Exchanges
We will do everything possible to ensure that you are happy with your order and will work with you to make the order right. Remember that it is your responsibility to send correct information for your printed materials regarding names, dates, locations and other printed information. If we spot something that looks incorrect, we will check with you before proceeding. If you receive a proof, be sure to check it carefully.

We will review your request for a refund based on the type of problem encountered and whether or not we can fix it to your satisfaction. Personalized products and instant digital downloads will not be eligible for a refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
Printing orders are placed on Monday's for pickup on Wednesday/Thursday - which typically ship by Friday when feasible. If your order requires a proof, the proof must be approved by Monday morning to make the week's order. Please plan for your order to be ready to ship within 7-10 business days, plus shipping time.

If you have a rush, please convo me for availability to accomodate your request. All items are printed professionally, which means accommodating the printer's schedule as well.

Complex or large orders may take more time to produce. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the production timeline. I will do my best to notify you of any foreseeable delays.

Please include all customization notes under "Notes to Seller" when you check out. This keeps all of your important information with your order. Should you forget anything or have questions, please take advantage of the "Convo" tool in Etsy to send me a message.

Love my style, but don't see exactly what you're looking for? No problem. I love working up custom designs. Please convo me with any requests and I will do my best to accomodate.

All designs are original artwork and property of the Polkadot Paper Company. Please do not copy or duplicate designs without express permission.
