About

The Story of Liz and The Sweet Strap

My studio is located in New Hampshire, in North Conway, in the midst of the White Mountains National Forest and in the Mt. Washington Valley. I recently relocated here from Northeastern Connecticut, and it is an adventure! I am so lucky to live in such a wondrous place.

I started making camera straps in 2010, after taking a trip and being annoyed with my camera strap digging into my neck. It wasn't long enough either and I felt awkward holding the camera on one shoulder or around my neck. I decided then and there, I would create a camera strap that was comfortable to wear, long enough that I could wear it cross-body and strong too. My most expensive possession was my camera, I wasn't about to let something happen to it! The Sweet Strap camera straps are long, and strong, but they're also beautiful!

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

Spot clean scarf camera straps, and because of the delicate nature of the material, please be mindful of sharp objects and things such as zippers and velcro.

Standard camera straps are machine washable, and you can stick them in the dryer too, although I line dry mine. Please remove the hardware first and put it in a safe place so it's not "eaten" by your washing machine! A quick steam iron on the cotton setting will get your camera strap looking like new!

Camera straps with minky padding can be cared for the same way as the standard straps, except please don't iron the minky. It will melt and won't be soft anymore!

Can you add a lens cap pocket?

Camera straps are 1.5" wide, so unfortunately, will not accommodate the width of a lens cap pocket. Strap covers are 2.25" wide, and if a lens cap pocket were to be added, the width of the cover would be at least twice that of your strap underneath and may lead to flopping about and even sliding off the strap. The Sweet Strap designs camera straps for comfort and utility, please let me know if you have any other questions!
