This is what I need for a future project. I will be making an embroidery sort of collage. Thanks to The Textile Shop for this one.

A Seamstress and Fabric

I am a seamstress. You know the saying the one with the most fabric wins? I won. I have been buying fabric for years. I worked at Joann Fabrics TWICE in the 80's. I owned a drapery and window treatment business for 12 years. I sold made and installed drapes. I have so much so much..................

I love fabric. There is just something about the texture and the colors and the design. When I would get a bolt of fabric, I would open it and ouu and ahh and stroke the fabric. What IS it about fabric? I think it is all of the ideas swimming around in your head about what this piece of flat fabric can be made into. The dreams and possibilities are endless.
Anyway I have come to the conclusion that I will never be able to use all of it up so I started this shop hoping to pass it on to someone else that has imagination and dreams for it. I have fabric from the 1800's to the 2000's. I have finally learned to avoid JoAnn's and fortunately Walmart got rid of their fabric dept.

As for the linens, I am selling them because I have too many of those too. I kept purchasing them because of all the love and labor and beauty put into each piece. I also do all kinds of needlework so I know what went into each piece. Again I know that others who appreciate that work will also be interested in obtaining them.

I have 5 sewing machines. One industrial straight stitch, one industrial hemmer, two home machines, and one serger. I gave up another industrial straight stitch because I just had too many. How many machines can one person use? Actually I have used all of them : )

I love sewing, I love fabric, I love design, I love dreams and imagination and the possibilities but I am passing it onto you.
