The Thread Countess is the business realization of the creative spirit of a mother-daughter team. Years of working together on numerous art and volunteer projects fostered out-of-the-box creative thought and the desire to find custom solutions to problems. Never satisfied with anything less than their best work, mother Alicia and daughter Olivia embarked on their Etsy project in late 2014.
Olivia, a knitter and gamer, takes control of the day-to-day business of the Etsy shop and the correspondence with customers. She loves making custom pieces and specializes in knit items with a gaming inspiration. Fine detail work is a passion of hers and a central focus in much of her more refined pieces. The feel of the work is just as important as the look, and she takes significant time to select her materials for the most pleasing options. Custom items are a great joy for her, especially when they are made for a fellow gamer.
Alicia, veil-maker and mother of two, specializes in birdcage veils and strives to make unique and beautifully hand-crafted bridal veils. She is devoted to her creations, from the initial concept through construction and their safe delivery. She refuses to ever crush or compress her veils, and takes great care to ensure the shape and volume of the veils are maintained for the waiting bride. Many of her elements are made individually by hand, and her accent pieces are all of the best quality. For fun and flavor, she has expanded her collection to include a variety of colored fascinators and costume veils.
