Wow! Super prompt, excellent condition, great price - what's not to love? You just can't buy boots like this anymore, at least not at this price. Mostly though, what stands out is Skylar's great attitude and communication skills. - Thanks Skylar!

The jacket arrived exactly as described - perfect condition for a garment of this age. Very fast shipping and a pleasure doing business with Skylar. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

The Thread Locker - Vintage clothing, accessories, equipment and rarities

Registered in January 2011, forgot about Etsy until Summer 2011. The Thread Locker on Etsy's volume is small because I have a specific idea of the quality and type of items I choose to sell. I throw lots of catches back and don't sell for quantity, I sell for the type of quality my customers want and deserve.

I generally offer well crafted vintage items that were made in the USA, but sometimes offer items from Europe and Japan.

I never sell merchandise from sweatshops or merchandise originating from unfair labor practicing regions of the world.

Places like China and India are a no go, due to their corrupt governments- and lack of oversight in garment and goods labor. I find the exploitation of the people who you swore to serve as something evil.

I can't consider selling much of South America's merchandise, banned from The Thread Locker for the same reason- unless I can tell if it's one off, from a smaller shop.

Much of Asia is also on my shit list for how they treat their workers, with the exception being Japan, who have been leaders in manufacturing of nearly every facet of retail and trade for decades.

My passions are bringing you well preserved, scarce, classic vintage items at fair prices, and the best possible customer service. Everything is 100% satisfaction guaranteed and backed by a full refund, the reason for why you returned it doesn't matter to me.

Just send the item(s) back. Every sale is a thrill, as is my repeat customer base, I try to do everything I can to make repeat customers out of anybody who buys a Thread Locker item.

If you're looking for something in particular, please reach out with a message. My models are tough to get a hold of and that means I often have a closet load (I have a separate closet for sale material) of items that haven't yet been shot or listed.

I'll ship anything I sell worldwide. Thanks for reading about my shop. -Sky

Shop policies

Thanks so much for checking out my shop! New items go up monthly or weekly, unless things are slow. If I sold everything I found that I was unsure of, I'd have hundreds of items sitting in the store.

I'm not that kind of seller.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Direct Credit Card Checkout, Paypal, Mailed Money Order- those are all good.

I'll even hold an item for you if you can't yet afford it, but you're worried it'll sell. Just ask.

Hell, I'm even open to trades. If you think you have something I should have and I've listed something that should be yours- It might be fun.
I generally ship Priority Mail- (I've found that it usually costs a dollar or so more, for much quicker service). Overseas is of course, not Priority.

Overseas estimates are usually higher than what I pay to ship- this is done to insulate me against having to pay for high worldwide shipping costs as a result of underestimating when I list.

I refund ANY unused postage, as I have many, many times here at The Thread Locker.

If this policy is at all unclear, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be able to review and explain, at any time.
Refunds and Exchanges
I'll refund your money if you don't like your item. I have perfect feedback and I work to keep it that way. I ask that you cover return shipping, though. I try to accurately describe my items and because they're all vintage, some pre-owned, this is of paramount importance to the both of us.
