Exactly what I wanted! Although very lightweight and easy to hang, once up it appears elegant and substantial. measurements were perfect, and I couldn't be happier. Price for the product was very fair. Shipping is expensive, but not sure how to trim that cost. The owner/artist was very easy to work with, delivered faster than promised and I highly recommend her.

We LOVE our over sized headboard!! Hollie was amazing to work with and always responded quickly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend her work to anyone wanting to make their bedroom a little more elegant. Thanks Hollie!!
No one was more surprised than I...
The Tufted Frog's life began in Greenville, South Carolina, in a tiny addition on the back of house that we affectionately call The Love Nest. Our bedroom needed some sprucing, and I was on another DIY kick. (I've lived a lifetime of those kicks...) I checked a couple of blogs, threw in some of my own ideas, and headed off to pick up the necessary fabric and tools.
I couldn't believe what a big difference that headboard made in our struggling little room! My neighbor couldn't either, and soon had commissioned a headboard for her own home. She started bugging me about starting a business and selling these headboards, but I wasn't quite so sure. After a while of Maritza's goading, however, I timidly posted a little listing here on Etsy, showcasing my first two pieces.
Shortly thereafter, my husband received a job offer in Arizona. So we packed up our little household, said "goodbye" to The Love Nest, and headed West. Soon, I received my first headboard order - I was so surprised! The following orders kept me busy for the next few months, and have continued to do so ever since.
Probably the most unique aspect about my headboards' construction is the fact that they are built around a foamboard form. I first decided to use foam board, rather than wood, when I realized I didn't have the correct tools to cut a wooden board with. Actually, giving credit where due, it was my husband's idea...and one of the best ever. Using such a lightweight, yet sturdy material allows for much easier transportation and installation. It is also much easier to shape, and the minimal weight makes for a happy FedEx man.
I have learned and grown so much over the last couple of years. I love to look back through my photos and see the evolution of my work. It is so motivating to realize that as far as I have come in these last two years, I can grow that much more in the next two - and many more - to come. My most surprising moment (besides the surprise of this whole business) was when I received an order to construct tufted wall panels for an HGTV show! That project definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities my work offers. So I'm just trying to prepare myself for the next surprise, whatever it may be.
God has been so kind to gift me with this vocation that allows the flexibility to match my husband's odd schedule. Running a business - especially such a labor-intensive one - has many challenges. But I wouldn't trade this job for anything. Besides, there's not much else to do in a town with a population as small as ours...
I hope that my love for creating is evident in my work. And that maybe, my little normal, every-day story will inspire you to - however timidly - post your first listing.
Oh, and the name? the "frog" is from one of my nicknames...Hollie Froggie. Thanks Aunt Piggy!
