Love it! Beautiful as always!
Beautiful yarn! Color is amazing and yarn is sooo soft.
I fell into the fibre arts headlong and without warning.
I began my shop in May of 2011. I have crocheted for almost 20 years, but it all started in 2009 when I decided to teach myself to knit. In doing this I ended up learning more about wool and ended up escaping the world of acrylic yarns! I stumbled onto Ravelry in 2010 and through this social media site discovered a community of like minded individuals. I met a great group of knitters who soon became close friends and avid supporters of my journey into the fibre arts. I began dyeing my own yarn in late 2010, and when I started spinning in early 2011 I also started to dye my own spinning fibres. My friends loved what I was creating and encouraged me to start my own shop on Etsy selling what I was making. Through an intense brainstorming session, we came up with the name of the The Wacky Windmill. The name of the shop has led to many questions over the past few years. Here are answers to some of them. I wanted a name that related to the area I live in which is Southern Alberta. Although I am not Dutch, we do have a strong Dutch community in this area, and are also surrounded by wind turbines ( The Wacky Wind Turbine just did not have the same ring to it). Also, I can be rather wacky in the ways I approach things and tend to spin in crazy confused circles at trying to keep up with all I do in life. And so...you have the wacky and you have the windmill (as opposed to turbine). The fibre arts have been a great adventure, and I hope to keep exploring this strange and wonderful world at the bottom of the rabbit hole I have fallen into. I love creating and I love my little shop, and I hope you love being a part of this adventure with me!
Take Care & Happy Crafting
I like to keep busy and I love to create! The fibre arts are my passion, and I am always working at developing my skills in this area. As you can see from the items in my shop I love bright and vibrant colours and I hope that you will love them too.
My studio is located in Southern Alberta where the prairies seem endless and wind turbines tower over the landscape. I offer a variety of fibres in a fun selection of colours. I hope you find something that catches your eye!
