This is thick, soft paper, very lovely to work with, folds easily, beautifully made.

One color is never really enough if you are creating something special. TheWhatNaught loves customs orders for handmade recycled textured paper. Just ask Helen!

About

Work in Progress

My Etsy shop began as a place to sell my original handmade Hawaii St. Nick Christmas ornaments. I started making them in 1982 when my youngest son started Kindergarten. When his son began school in 2011, I decided it was time to get St. Nick out of storage! I hand paint the faces, sew the swim trunks, collect the ironwood pinecone for the body and pose each one in an unique way. Each one is handmade with Aloha and they are considered collectible.
About the same time I began making Christmas ornaments, I took a papermaking class. When asked about my favorite artistic activity, I always answer, "Papermaking!"
It is a fun process and now that more people are concerned about the environment, it is very "green!" There is something very satisfying about taking discards and transforming them into something new, novel and extraordinary! Handmade paper has unlimited uses.

I retired from teaching and turned to the sea for new inspiration. Besides having a passion for creating unique artwork, I love to go beach combing! It gives me great joy to discover treasures the ocean has toss up onto the shore.

I also have necklaces made by my wonderful, but late Mother; she left us may 29, 2013 at age 92. Her pieces are all dazzling and original. She loved making necklaces and crested beautiful ones until she could no longer tie the knots.
