Excellent pattern. Giving directions for top down and bottom up. I am new to icord and my nipple is a little long but it was super easy and adorable.

I just about to start their poncho for my granddaughter. She will love! I mean I love up.

And so it began...

Where did I start? Where do I begin?

When I was 4 years old, my maternal grandmother (nanny) taught me to knit; cast on, garter stitch and cast off. I made a little pillow and still have it. It lit a love for wool in me that has yet to be extinguished.

As I grew, I dabbled in crochet (Cabbage Patch Clothes!) and my Aunts taught me to sew. I loved sewing and made many dresses and quilts in my teens. However, I went to our local yarn shop and bought knitting books from France to practice with. I loved knitting little baby things as they were quick and easy and I was able to teach myself more advanced stitches.

And then I got married. My life became busy with babies (8 of them, but not all at once!), laundry & meal making. Sometimes I would pick up the needles and knit up a baby outfit or two, but not as much as I would have liked.

Then I needed something to do while waiting at appointments, in the car or while the kids watched movies. Knitting became my friend again. I started browsing online for my old magazines but they were not being printed anymore and then I found Ravelry. It was still in the Beta stages and I joined right away.

Designing soon followed as I was looking for patterns that were simple, seamless, sometimes unisex and timeless. I mean, I was always adapting, changing and rearranging patterns anyways! Why not create my own line and love my job at the same time.

Something that I love to try to do, is to name each pattern after a family member. This doesn't always happen, but it is a theme that I am using to link my past with my present and to thank them all for helping and encouraging me in who I am today. My family is wonderful and have risen to the challenges of being my models, listening to my conundrums and helping me choose colors. I am so blessed to have them all!

Happy knitting everyone!
