Rachel did a great job working with me to figure out the layout of my quote, and made sure everything looked perfect! I'm super happy with how my pendant turned out!

About

Handmade bohemian jewelry with crystals and brass.

The Wood and Watch began in theory during childhood, when I'd wear my handmade jewelry (plastic fruit earrings for picture day, anyone?) to define a personal style. I would "record" sales of my items in old ledgers.

In practice, it started in 2007 on a Bridge table in my teeny first apartment in Astoria, Queens. The Wood and Watch quickly gained momentum, and its collection pieces are now showcased on wearers around the world, as well as in the Queens Museum of Art.

The Wood and Watch headquarters has grown from its eked-out corner to today's full-fledged studio complete with my grandfather's jeweler's bench, an array of workshop tools from my dad, and an ever-growing collection of inspirational bits.

Raw gems and rough but shiny things are common in my magpie-style nest.

I love digging into the past to bring meaning to jewelry in the present.

Hand-hewn art hums in my blood. Complexity, context and layers intrigue me.

Additional policies and FAQs
*Want a custom item or adjustment? Like a necklace but want to add or remove some inchest? How about getting that pair of earrings with lever back hooks instead of kidney wires? Contact me to discuss. I can usually switch out hooks or change lengths for free.

*The Wood & Watch strives to be as vegan as possible.

Ingredients not used in The Wood & Watch items include: pearls (only glass/crystal ones here), leather, silk, wool, suede, and shells. Despite my love for recycling, I don't often use vintage pearl-coated glass/crystal, as these were sometimes created with the use of fish scales (for their iridescence). If these are used, there will be an indication in the item description. I have verified with Swarovski that their coated crystal pearls are without animal byproducts, and so these are the ones most frequently used.

Hammered pieces are not created with the use of leather. Oxidized items are currently achieved with the use of JAX Chemicals and not eggs. While I cannot verify at this time if certain glues used are vegan, I do attempt to note when possible if they have been used on the jewelry item. Certain wires may have come pre-waxed, and I can let you know if this is the case upon request.

Please convo me with any questions you may have about materials, and I will do my best to answer them as long as they do not interfere with trade secrets.
