About

One Little Girl with a Drill

Chickens catch my eye as they zoom past my workshop in hot pursuit of a juicy bug... and then I take a moment to gaze out along the horizon at our horses happily munching on lush green grass, and I am thankful for being The Woodshop's Daughter.

Each item found in this little treasure chest is 100% handmade by me. I locally source as much of my materials as I can from a small backyard sawmill - owned and still operated by a "74 years young" man named Mr.Earl. Also, local beekeeper provides me with the luxurious beeswax to create my finishing waxes. So your purchase supports THREE local entrepreneurs! High Five!

And to sweeten the deal, These stands are finished with Environmentally Safe EvenGrain wood stain and Almond Wood Preservative. EvenGrain stain is wonderfully engineered non toxic and low VOC wood stain. So, it's safer for the environment and for me. EvenGrain is a super kick butt company and proceeds from every purchase provides funding for the Santa Fe Chapter of Habitat for Humanity!

One Little Girl with a drill!

Once upon a time, many many years ago... I was searching endlessly on the internet for the perfect stand to display my handmade Horseshoe Nail Cross Necklaces for sale in a local shop. All the stands were either too expensive and elaborate, too cheap and plain, or too eclectic for my taste.

I had a Goldy Locks AHA moment! I will try to make my own!

So, I went to Home Depot, with my little sketch in hand, and systematically hunted my way through the very unfamiliar lumber and tool departments until my first stand was born.

O my! Was it ever crooked, uneven and quite terrible! I had a lot to learn about carpentry but, I made something! My magical idea had come to life and I kept going. I found better tools and learned a few tricks of the trade one stand at a time.

Soon after, my first online shop was coming together and I was talking to MANY show vendors, new moms, and dudes about their organizational needs... and my product line was growing like weeds! Beautiful wonderful weeds.

I never thought I would go into the business of making jewelry displays (I thought I was in the business of making necklaces). But, it was such a blessing when the orders kept coming through and people had such kind things to say. I watched "The Woodshops Daughter" bloom right before my amazed little eyes.

The online community brought me so much love, freedom, and success that I built a little workshop of my very own. This miracle has grown into two online shoppes, with a third on the way. I have some of the baby designs for sale in a local children's boutique and can not wait to see where I grow from here. I hope to be able to hire a helper in the next chapter of this journey!

I am in LOVE with being a fulltime work from home artist. So, your support of The Woodshops Daughter (and my sawmill and beekeeper friends) has blessed my heart in leaps and bounds!

I hope you like what you see here! I hope bringing a solid wood - American made product home to your family or store front blesses you in even greater leaps and bounds!

Thank you!
Happy Organizing!
