5 out of 5 starsMegan Nedds, of TheWoolenWagon, is, in my opinion, a 10 Star Seller. I ordered 3 different colors/shades/hue (however you name it) of her Suri Alpaca Locks. they all arrived fairly quickly, in one package, and in 3 separate-resealable baggies. The colors are gorgeous, and the texture of this fleece is out of this world! And exactly what I wanted. Thank you, Megan!!

5 out of 5 starsTutorial is easy to follow, there is an option to buy a kit with everything needed but if you already have a needle felt set then just buying the tutorial is enough!

Felting needles have tiny barbs on the end that push the wool down every time you poke it.
-
I use wool batts for the bodies of my animals because it felts very firm and smooth.

These alpaca locks add great touches to my little animals.

I use horse hair to give some of my animals whiskers.
From wool to critter: A process of magic
I discovered needle felting in the summer of 2012. I found it quite amazing that I could take raw wool and sculpt it into little animals. As an art student, I was excited to add this new technique to my skills. Needle felting is the process of compacting wool into a firm sculpture by repeatedly stabbing it with a special barbed needle, a process I like to refer to as magic. Wool is available in almost any color imaginable, and there are also many different types of wool. For example, some types of wool are best used for sculpting a flat surface while other types of wool can produce a "furry" effect. I create my animals by first making a wire "skeleton". I then begin felting over the wire. After the animal is sculpted, I can add details such as glass eyes, clay noses, or horse hair whiskers. Each animal takes many hours to fully complete. The smallest animals can be finished in a day or two, but the larger animals can take many weeks to fully complete. After each of my animals are complete, I name them and put them up for "adoption". I am excited to share my little animals with other people and I hope they can put a smile on your face!
