I try to paint every day to keep my balance

I wanted to be a painter but my father gave me an ultimatum, so I had to go to work in a "real job" for a while, before switching to singing. I did not think I was good enough, I was self taught in painting, my art school professor told me to give it up. Fast forward a few years, I do some illustrations, help at a tattoo place, make a book with sketches. it is clear to me I am not detailed and like rough sketches, in your face colors and people do not like it. Then I move to Denmark. I work as a teacher, a writer, a therapist. I don't understand abstract but a night I dream of a technique and I try it out. It is a success, people love the explosion of colors, how they are put together and I get it now, abstract is open to interpretation and is preferred when you see something everyday. My paintings are like me, passionate, explosive, vibrant, without neatness and a love for details, but standing out by just being. I guess I never really left the fairy tale world where everything has more hue and "bite".

What brand of oil colors do you use?

I buy the brightest and best ( in quality, also regarding toxicity) due to the fact I paint with my hands a lot. The brand I use is van gogh and I use oil to thin it.
