About

Humble Beginnings....

Welcome to Thirsty Fox Studios! I'm Melissa Word, Sole Proprietor, I am also the designer, the etching queen, the packer, the shipper, the email answerer, plus a mom to four beautiful children.

My business began as a result from a family member requesting a few personalized groomsmen whiskey glasses. The finished product was well received and at the suggestion of my husband, I opened and Etsy shop to start selling online.

In April of 2017, Thirsty Fox Studios was born. Shortly after opening, the orders started coming in and I realized the potential of this fledgling business. I am excited to see just how far this opportunity will take me.

I take great pride in the details of my craftsmanship. I strongly believe handmade is the best of the best. Not only are you supporting a real person with a passion for what they do, you are also supporting a Mom who believed in herself and is showing her girls it's okay to dance to the beat of your own drum.

Thank you for stopping by my shop, I hope to work with you soon!

Frequently asked questions
How are the glasses engraved?

We exclusively use sandblasting, which is the premier method for engraving glass. Sandblasting produces a deep, permanent mark, and it allows for great flexibility in design. It produces the best result of all the available engraving methods.

Is the engraving permanent?

Yes. It is carved into the glass the engraving will never wash, chip, or wear off. The glasses are even dishwasher safe!

Are there any limitations with engraving?

The primary limitation is color. While engraved glass has a more elegant appearance and is permanently marked, it is limited to the frosted white color of etched glass. Therefore, artwork or images that we use for engraving work best if they are single color images without shading.

What kind of glass do you use?

We use only restaurant quality glassware, and there is a difference. We use the type of glasses that you would see in a nice bar or restaurant. Most of our glassware is produced domestically by Libbey Glassware.

Is wholesale/bulk pricing available?

Yes! We do large orders for weddings, businesses, groups, and parties and we offer exceptional pricing for these.
