This Is How She Does It
For someone who is very technology savvy, I still prefer a good ole paper planner. I've found it's easier to look at a whole day, week or month at a glance on paper instead of on my smartphone or even my Google or Outlook calendar.
Sometime in 2014, I started making my own planner, one month at a time. I wanted it to be small and very portable. It was literally 6 pages, folded in half, and a cardboard notepad back, also folded in half to make a cover. It was pretty crude but it served its purpose.
Then I came across the concept of once a month cooking, and while that didn't quite work for me, I embraced the idea of planning my family's dinner menus for a whole month at a time. I started actively using Pinterest to organize my monthly menus (https://www.pinterest.com/yavrig) and by necessity, I added one more page to my "planner". Over the next year, I started devising a planner format that would work for me. I designed new pages when a need arose and got to a point where it had turned into something pretty darned cool.
Every time I would post my monthly menu on a Facebook mommies page, other members would ask me "how do you do it with three kids, an ogre and a full time job?" and they would ask where they could get a planner like mine... 6 months later, here we are, and here are my planners!
I hope you like them and I welcome ideas and custom orders. I would love to design something just for you. :-*
