Lined up with other recently listed yarns, this super bulky cashmere is the star of the show! I can't stop squishing it.

About

luxury yarns thoughtfully reclaimed from unwanted sweaters

Back in January of 2008 I resolved to work exclusively with recycled materials for one year. I found such an abundance of beautiful recycled materials to work with, that I have extended that resolution indefinitely! I work mostly with recycled yarn, but also use recycled fabrics and plastic bags.

Thoughtful Rose Supply is where I sell luxury yarns reclaimed from discarded sweaters. I scour local thrift stores for gently used sweaters made from quality yarns, unravel them, skein the yarn, wash the skeins, measure and tag them, photograph them, and list them in my Etsy shop. It's a lot of work, but it feels good to be salvaging these beautiful fibers that might otherwise end up in landfills, or be sent to the local textile recycling plant to be turned into rags!

Thanks for visiting Thoughtful Rose Supply, your source for recycled and reclaimed yarn, buttons, and other supplies.

I collect unwanted sweaters made from quality natural fibers, unravel them, skein them, wash the skeins in a gentle, eco-friendly, unscented detergent, and hang them to dry. Most of the kinks in the yarn are removed in the washing process, but a few waves may still remain. These will not be visible in your finished project.

If you'd like a sample of a yarn, let me know, and I will happily send you a few yards free of charge!

Additional policies and FAQs
My home is smoke-free and pet-free; and I don't use chemical moth repellents. However, the yarns I sell are recycled from sweaters which may have been in homes with pets, smoke, and/or mothballs. I wash all yarns thoroughly before selling them, and I will never sell a skein of yarn with a noticeable odor or visible pet hairs, but I can't guarantee that the yarn I sell will be 100% free of allergens: so if you are extremely allergic, buy with caution. :)
