Ik heb lang genoten van naaien, quilten en knutselen in het algemeen, maar ik had er nooit aan gedacht om een Etsy-winkel te openen zonder mijn zus Hannah.
Ik was aan het lunchen met mijn zus, Hannah, en we bespraken mijn huidige naaiprojecten (ik geloof dat er op dat moment een tas of shirt voor haar in de maak was) toen mijn zus vroeg of ik ooit op Etsy was geweest. Hannah was op dat moment een student en een deskundige uitsteller. Met andere woorden, ze vond en wist over de coolste dingen online, en zou me er dan over vertellen. Dat betekende natuurlijk dat ze alles wist over Etsy en alle leuke dingen die te koop waren, en stelde voor dat ik ernaar zou kijken.
Nou dat deed ik, en ongeveer een maand later bespraken we namen voor de winkel, en met haar hulp kwamen we op ongeveer 10 winkelnamen. Na enige discussie dachten we allebei dat Threads of Genius de beste was. Dat was de eerste winkelnaam. Na een jaar vond ik de naam nog steeds niet perfect. Ik wilde iets persoonlijkers. Ik ben er nog steeds mee bezig. Tot nu toe denk ik dat ik mijn initialen (LL) ga uitspelen en incorporeren. Misschien The Double L Studio, of gewoon The Double L? Wie weet. Het enige wat zeker is, is dat ik mijn zus zal raadplegen voordat ik de verandering aanbreng.
Nu het een jaar later is, ben ik nog steeds bezig met de Etsy shop. Ik werk en ga in de zomer naar school, dus er is niet veel tijd meer om te knutselen, hoewel ik er wel wat knutselwerk in pers. In de herfst en het voorjaar zijn mijn belangrijkste werktijden. Ik heb de middagen vrij en kan naar believen knutselen en naaien en quilten.

I have long enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts in general, but I would have never thought to open an Etsy shop if not for my sister Hannah.
I was having lunch with my sister, Hannah, and we were discussing my current sewing projects, (I believe a bag or shirt was in the works for her at the time) when my sister asked if I had ever been on Etsy. At the time Hannah was a college junior and an expert procrastinator. In other words she found and knew about all of the coolest things online, and would then tell me about them. Naturally, that meant that she knew all about Etsy and all of the cute things for sale, and suggested that I look into it.
Well that I did, and about a month later we were discussing names for the shop, and with her help, we came up with about 10 shop names. After some discussion, we both thought that Threads of Genius was the best one. That was the first shop name. After a year I still didn't think that the name was perfect. I wanted something a little more personal. I am still working on it. So far I think I am going to play off of my initials (LL) and incorperate that. Maybe The Double L Studio, Or just The Double L? Who knows. The only thing that is certain is that I will consult my sister before I make the change.
Now that it is a year later, I am still working on the Etsy shop. I work and go to school during the summer, so there isn't much time left for crafting, although I do squeeze in some crafting. In the fall and spring are my main work times. I have the afternoons free and can craft and sew and quilt at will.
