Contacted Karen and asked if she was going to do Pajamas for Melody. I was 12 in 1964 and I mentioned I had a baby blue pair of pjs with a lion appliqué on the front. Imagine my surprise when I saw my order and the pjs she made were almost exactly like the ones I had as a child. She did the most beautiful job on the lion - absolutely fabulous!! All stitched with her sewing machine. Her work is impeccable and these pajamas are just the softest, most scrumptious pajamas ever!! I wish I could give Karen 10 stars on this. Unbelievable that she would do this for me. I highly recommend her work and she is a pleasure to work with.

Another perfect outfit - what can I say!! The pleats are perfect, the jacket is lined in a satin fabric, the bows are placed perfectly and the hat is like the ones I wore as a child!! So happy!! Thanks!!
Sewing in miniature
I received my first sewing machine when I was five years old. It was a simple chain stitch machine, but I was definitely amazed by it! I began "real" sewing in junior high school Home Ec class (really aging myself here), and I was soon following in my mother's footsteps with her love of sewing. She was a wonderful mentor and a patient teacher. By high school, I was making most of my own clothes, and my parents gifted me with my own Singer sewing machine for my graduation. It's now been over four decades (I still can't believe it!) and five sewing machines later, but the love of sewing is as strong as ever.
I have sewn and made clothing for adults, children, and dolls. My daughter was the recipient of most of my creations. I learned the art of English smocking when she was a young girl and still love that timeless look. Quilting was added much later as another venue to express my love of fabric and threads. Sewing for dolls has been a wonderful venue, and I love creating historical fashions for the 18" American Girl sized collector dolls. Sewing miniature clothing can be a challenge, but one I'm always up for!
Around the web
I've been sewing and crafting for over 4 decades. I got this gene from my mother! I've always loved dolls, and now get the pleasure of sewing for them! I love pairing quality fabrics with trims, and using fine finishes to create quality garments.
