Gemstones, sparkle and bling... Oh, my!
After years of experience working for a New England family's fine jewelry store and studying gemology, I found myself collecting gemstones, crystals and anything that sparkled! Soon I was creating designs that were featured in local Maine boutiques and galleries; then, the sparkle spread to stores in New Hampshire and Massachusetts!
During this time, one of my daughters became seriously ill. As she journeyed through two organ transplants ~ for a total of six organs ~ and we found ourselves living far from home due to specialized medical care, great solace was found admiring Mother Nature’s wonderful handiwork and creating jewelry designs. Renewed energy with intentional design was brought forth as she and I connected with organ transplant patients and caregivers creating a very special, supportive kinship. Interest soon grew to include folklore and metaphysical properties of gems and minerals which I like to share within the description of each unique item.
Proceeds from items sold will benefit those staying at The Transplant House of Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio. This non-profit organization provides housing and a positive community for those experiencing organ transplant. Although my daughter and I stayed here for many years, our lives were lovingly humbled and simplified for which we are forever grateful as the positive changes within ourselves and family are so meaningful. I have since lost my sweet girl but created The Sunflower Fund in her memory to help those who find their stay with this organization much longer than anticipated.
