Thank you so much for this beautifully crafted clothespin holder. Complete with vintage hanger as well. It will be a pleasure hanging up the clothes!

Thank you sending this adorable kitchen towel so quickly! This will make the perfect gift for a sister's wedding anniversary. (She was married in 1994 and this will fit her kitchen style exactly!!)

All the napkins were attractive color combinations and sturdy fabric for hard use. I am giving them as gifts and let my first recipients choose which ones they wanted. That was great!

About

Thrift at Home

I love to play around with colors in patchwork, and I make more things than I can use or give. I am a self-taught sewer and quilter, so my work doesn't always fit in traditional styles. I generally limit myself to found fabric and rarely buy new fabric. Everything I sell in my shop is my own design, which I also use in my kitchen and home, so I find and fix the flaws.

I love to sew. I treasure my Bernina. I love patchwork, found fabric, creative reuse, and calico. I'm a wife and mother, as well as a cookbook editor. I love all the domestic arts.

Shop policies

Last updated on April 21, 2013
Everything I make is from a prototype I have used personally. My items are sturdy, practical, and beautiful. I want you to love your Thrift at Home item.

I find my fabric almost anywhere except from the fabric store. Most of it is vintage or upcycled, and I wash it with unscented detergent to ensure there is no shrinkage or stains, and hang it in the sun so it smells good.

I actively recycle, repurpose, and reduce waste; when you buy from my shop, you support those things too.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Check
Payment
Payments by PayPal. You can also pay by credit card through PayPal even if you don't have a PayPal account.

I do accept checks. I have not had a check returned/denied for insufficient funds, so I want to keep it that way. Should it happen that a check is returned, the buyer will be assessed a $30 fee in addition to the outstanding cost of the item.

Payment is required within 3 days of purchasing, or I will cancel the sale and relist the item.
Shipping
I am usually able to ship your item within 2 days of payment. If something exceptional is going on, I will contact you.

My shipping rates are for the actual shipping cost plus a small handling fee. If the items ships more cheaply than I expected, I will refund money to you via Paypal. I am not trying to profit from shipping prices.

I reuse shipping envelopes and boxes whenever I can so I can save us both money and keep things out of the landfill.

Please convo me if you want to add insurance to your shipment; I will check on the cost and add it to your order and then purchase the insurance when I ship the
item(s).
Refunds and Exchanges
Remember, I want you to be satisfied! I will accept exchanges (buyer pays shipping) if the item looks different in person from my photos and how the computer monitor showed it. Sales are final otherwise.

If an item gets lost in the mail, we will decide together on a mutually agreeable solution.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to take custom orders, as long as it's possible for me to meet any deadlines you might have. Often I only have small pieces of fabric, so most of my items are one of a kind and can't be replicated precisely. But I am happy to work with a theme or color that you have in mind.

I like wrapping presents, so if you want me to gift wrap your purchase before putting it in the shipping package, I will gladly do that free of charge. Please let me know in the "note to seller" when you check out.
