Announcement   I am a fiber and mixed media artist and nature lover who is inspired by the world of nature. Since I was a little girl, I have loved to be outside, wandering the beach, and fields or woods. I was creative even then, as among other things, I made mud pies, built sandy villages and wove jewellery from grass. My mother, when doing the wash, always checked my pockets with care, as she never knew what little piece of nature or even critter she might find there.
In my teens I fancied myself an artist but opted for getting an arts and education degree when art school proved too expensive. I've spent the rest of my life taking drawing classes, workshops, and one week getaways to develop my art. I've taught many varieties of art classes to children and adults.
At the moment I work primarily with textiles and fibers and sometimes mixed media with paper, collage and paint. I also love to work on textiles with paint, fabric, various printing techniques, machine stitching, hand stitching and embellishing, sometimes with beads.
I was very excited recently, to be published in the Feb/March 2012 Quilting Arts magazine.
