    About

Watercolours, drawings, commissions and more by Tiana Kaczor

I've been making art and getting compliments on it ever since grade 1 when we had handmade storybooks where we wrote on the side with lined paper, and drew a picture on the blank paper side. My teacher would send me off down the hall to show the principal or the librarian my "fabulous drawings". Throughout school I continued to excel in art so it only made sense to go on to a college art program.

I've never been an artist who concentrates only on one style or medium, and I have struggled with people who have told me to be more "focused" and pick "one style" to be mine. That's just not me. I like variety. I like using different materials and methods. I like different topics. And that's why I became a teacher too, because I can do many different art techniques.

The love of variety has allowed me to do projects over the last 20 years as diverse as creating a found object beach sculpture in Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC for Artropolis '93, to numerous private commissions for portraits, to painting a 7 foot eagle sculpture with over 300 designs from children for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. (I received the Peoples Choice Award for that one!)

I love to share my knowledge with others and have enjoyed teaching in the public and private school systems, community centres, and recently I worked with clients in mental health and addictions programs to create an exhibition of their photographs which are now permanently hanging in Vancouver Coastal Health offices.

By opening my Etsy store I am combining my love of art with my love of old fashioned letter writing. In this age of email I still enjoy writing letters and sending parcels by "snail mail". Selling my art on Etsy will allow me to keep the postal carriers and pony express riders busy, as well as allowing a wider world to have the chance to see and purchase my creations.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy my art. Have a great day!

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my store. I'm so excited to finally be making my art available to a wider audience through this amazing technology we call the "Web".

For over 20 years I have been creating art professionally, from satisfying my own creative urges with gallery shows about social manners, using prints made from glowing computer screen photos, to satisfying customers who commission me to paint or draw their children, pets, or favourite holiday locations, its been quite an exciting career so far.

I'm not a studio that has a ton of inventory right now, but I do have some pieces which you might just take a liking to and want to hang on your own wall. Most of my art production has been for specific commissions. Please take a look at my examples and then when you've found your own photo(s) you'd like me to work from, select a form and convo me with your desires. I delight in creating art pieces that will bring back happy memories of people, places, or pets.

    Payment
I accept payment through Paypal and credit card, debit, and Etsy gift cards.

For custom orders / commissions I require that a deposit of at least 1/2 the total cost be made before I start work on your art piece. The last half of the payment will be made after I email you a photo of the artwork I've created from the image(s) you provide me. Once paid in full I will then mail the original art to you.
If you're comfortable I'll accept full payment up front too before I lay pencil or paint to paper!

As I understand the tax rules I'm not making enough riches right now, so you can be tax free!
    Shipping
Orders are professionally packaged and shipped to the address you provide on your Etsy invoice/receipt unless you specify another address when you place your order.

I ship using Canada Post. For ready made art out of my studio I will try to ship within 3 to 5 business days after I receive payment. I do have teaching jobs so some days am not available in my studio to work on your order, but will try to get it out as soon as possible.

Canada Post states that within Canada most letters, small parcels will get to their destination within 7 days.
For the United States a letter size takes about a week and anything bigger can take 2 to 4 weeks.
This has been true for all my past mailing experiences. Of course there is always the chance something may take longer. Perhaps I could hire a pony express rider to track it down for you and bring you the package himself then?

Canada Post does offer insurance and tracking. Convo me to arrange.

Any additional costs such as customs fees, duty fees, applicable taxes on any items are the sole responsibility of the buyer. (I don't see that you'd have any.)

I am willing to ship internationally. Please convo me for shipping prices and estimated times.

Please note that every computer monitor displays colours differently and thus the true colours of the artwork you receive may vary from the colour on the photo on the Etsy site.

I do not usually offer my artwork in frames because of the trouble and cost of shipping. However their are exceptions. I am also willing to offer framing advice as I worked for 6 years as a picture framer and can suggest styles and colours of frame and mat.
