This is some great leather! Much thicker than I have received from other sources. I have no doubt this will last a long time. It's really starting to form to my carry, and it rides in my pocket perfectly.

About

Beautiful yet usable knives and leatherwork.

Tidal Tools & Leather got its name because I grew up near the ocean and primarily make items for the refined outdoorsman living near the coast. This is more of a hobby than a small business; all profits are reinvested in the business to hopefully one day make this a full time venture. Visit my Facebook page @ facebook.com/TidalToolsandLeather

I started making oyster knives for my hometown volunteer fire company. The knives are auctioned annually at the local oyster eat to supplement their annual budget. Each oyster knife is designed with a full tang, thick handle, and a long narrow blade. This design is optimal for a hinge insertion, twist, pry, and long enough to cut the oyster’s muscle for an easy open. This is more of a hobby for me than anything. Therefore, customer satisfaction is of the utmost concern. Therefore, I back my products for its lifetime on craftsmanship and materials, under the item’s intended use and due care of course. I will replace, refund, or fix my items if there are issues or the customer is not satisfied. I also sharpen or refinish any of my items for free, as long as it is delivered to me.

Leatherwork became my hobby since I make custom sheaths for most of my knives. Leather is beautiful when finished and can last a lifetime if properly maintained. I enjoy challenges and custom requests. My leather is vegetable tanned, premium grade, genuine leather. My products are handmade; hand-tooled and hand-stitched in America.

I started making oyster knives with my father to benefit auction them for my local volunteer fire company. It is still just a hobby; any profit is reinvested into the shop. I strive to provide beautiful, yet usable, unique coastal cutlery.

Payment
I accept PayPal, credit card, or direct checkout. If this is a custom order, I will make the item and list it as reserved. The reserved status will be removed if the item is not purchased after 7 days of listing. The Everyday Carry items in the leatherwork pictures are not included with the purchase.
Shipping
All items are shipped via ground US Postal Service; additional features must be requested by and paid for by the customer. Ensure you check the listing's specific estimated ship date. My leatherwork is made to order; request an estimated completion time before purchasing.

No receipt is shipped with the knife in an attempt to be "green". A copy can always be found under your Etsy account. If you want a printed copy, please let me know prior to shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
1. A completely satisfied customer is my goal. However, if you are not satisfied with the work ordered, I readily accept returns within 14 days of the order's delivery; you must notify me of the issue within 7 days of delivery. This gives me the opportunity to rectify the issue immediately, and discuss return or refund options. Any such item must be returned in its original condition. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If a refund is requested, it will take place after the item is received back at the shop or otherwise agreed upon in an Etsy conversation. I stand by my work and will ensure customer satisfaction one way or another.

2. Oyster knives do a tough job - almost all of my knives are 440c steel which holds up excellently - however, over time - oyster knives get scrapes and wear marks.....this is the life of an oyster knife. Scrapes on oyster knives are not covered under warranty; but I will happily buff the knife back to its original shine as long as the buyer covers all shipping costs.

3. I back my items under a lifetime warranty; if there are issues with craftsmanship or materials, under the items intended use, I will either fix, replace or refund.

a. Blooper items are non-refundable.

4. Items are not dishwasher safe. Products placed in the dishwasher or washing machine will not be covered under warranty.

5. My leather products will last a very long time with proper care. I treat all sheaths with various protectants before shipping. However, this is a natural product and the treatment I place on the item will not last forever (most manufactured sheaths have no treatment at all). Leather will begin to gain a patina almost immediately - scrapes and wear marks are expected and anticipated - as such is the beauty of leather. Let the sheath dry fully before putting your knife/tool back in it for storage. I recommend you perform maintenance on the sheath to ensure it lasts as long as possible - neatsfoot oil or vegetable oil will both keep your sheath in great condition. Research treatments before applying items to your leather. I fix issues due to design flaws but cannot fix or replace products that are not properly cared for or maintained. Do not use petroleum based oils on the leather – they will wear down prematurely.

6. If a cigar box is included with your purchase, it may not be in pristine condition. These are used cigar boxes. They are an additional feature of the knife or purchase, but are intended to be a cool shipping box. I try to use only boxes in good condition, but dents and scratches could be on the box due to the labors of shipment.

7. Most Everyday Carry (EDC) pouch/sheath pictures contain knives, tools, and/or flashlights for examples only. These products are not included in the purchase unless agreed upon in an Etsy conversation.

8. Custom sheath work requires the items (EDC tools or knives, etc) to be shipped to my shop for the optimal fit. I will generally agree to make the sheath/pouch without the items present as long as the full dimensions are provided. However, due to the nature of most EDC items (curves, knobs, bulges, etc) a true custom fit cannot be accomplished without the items present in the shop. If you purchase an item without sending me the tools you wish to secure in the sheath, you agree to the fact that your items may not have an optimal fit or fit at all, upon receiving the product. If this is the case, and you requested initials stamped on the product, there is no refund available, but a 10% discount on the next purchase. If you did not have initials stamped on the product, you may return the product for a full refund, minus the cost associated with shipping the product back to my shop. If you send me your products and you feel the sheath does not fit well, with or without initials stamped on the leather, I will issue a full refund, minus the return shipping costs, as long as the product is returned to my shop within 14 days as outlined above. Alternate courses of action can be discussed and agreed upon in an Etsy conversation. Trust me when I say, I want total customer satisfaction. These issues can generally be avoided by detailed Etsy conversations......and sending the EDC tools to my shop, of course.
Additional policies and FAQs
Must be 18 years of age or older to purchase knives; by purchasing one of my items you agree to my policies and that you are 18 years old or older. My knives are very sharp; care must be taken when handling my knives. If you purchase a knife, you agree NOT to hold Tidal Tools & Leather, or any of its owners, employees, or any other associate(s), responsible or liable for injury. My knives and other knives are sharp, potentially dangerous, should not be treated as a toy, and should be kept away from children.

No receipt is shipped with the knife in an attempt to be "green". A copy can always be found under your Etsy account. If you want a printed copy, please let me know prior to shipping.
