5 out of 5 starsReceived my new earrings today. I’m impressed with how quality they look and feel. Not heavy at all to wear. I love to mix my vintage with modern and these fit the bill. Terra-cotta/dark teal or Green/mint is my new fave color combo to wear!

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful! I love them so much. I had received the exact pair as a gift previously, but lost them so I ordered them again. When they arrived, they were more pink than my previous pair, so the seller sent me a new pair :) They're so light and beautiful, I'm so happy to have them again.

About ElysianTheory
Jewelry to reach for when you want to feel inspired, uncommon, and beautiful
Elysian Theory is a collection of sculptural, dreamy jewelry that turns every day into a special occasion. Each piece is handmade by designer Elyse Tolles in Annapolis, Maryland.
Elysian Theory takes inspiration from old-world feminine elegance, playing dress up, and rituals of adornment. Featuring an eclectic mix of materials and processes, Elysian Theory designs frequently reimagine classic silhouettes and explore personally meaningful motifs and symbology — while striking a balance between wearable and individualistic.
Elyse was inspired to explore jewelry as a creative medium after leaving graduate school, where she studied classical flute performance. Her professional music background remains a constant source of inspiration and influence over her design process.
Elysian Theory has been featured in partnerships with Anthropologie and Michaels Stores, featured in Etsy's Featured Shops series, and chosen as a finalist in Etsy's first ever Design Awards, an international design competition.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request a customized item? What if it's something you don't have displayed in your store?
I generally do not take custom orders for earrings (including changing the colors of existing designs shown in my shop), but if you are a bride looking for custom bridal party earrings or a retailer interested in custom designs for wholesale, please send me a message. I reserve the right to accept customs on a case by case basis, and custom orders may incur extra charges.
Do you offer wholesale?
Please send me an email at hello@elysiantheory.com to request wholesale information.
What's the deal with polymer clay?
Polymer clay is a moldable, sculptable type of vinyl that cures to a permanently hardened state with heat. Calling it "clay" is actually a bit of a misnomer, since it is in no way related to kiln-fired ceramic clay. It is extremely lightweight and bends before breaking, making it an ideal medium for many types and styles of jewelry. Each color of clay is individually mixed and pigmented in our studio before shapes are cut and sculpted. From there, we heat every small batch until the pieces are fully cured to a durable, slightly flexible permanent state. Once cooled, each piece goes through a rigorous finishing process that can include multiple rounds of polishing, sealing, and drilling.
When can I expect to receive my order?
Processing times (the amount of time from when your order is received to when it's shipped) are approximately 7-10 business days. If you need an item before a specific date, please send us a message before placing an order. Please note that unless a date is specified, items may take longer to process.
ALWAYS contact us directly if you need your item by a specific date, and we will try our best to get it to you by then (within reason). We are unable to guarantee specific delivery dates due to delayed USPS processing and delivery times.
My ears aren’t pierced. Do you offer clip-on earrings?
Right now I do not currently offer any clip-on earring styles, although I am working on some that may be released in the future!
How do I care for my earrings?
Polymer clay is a slightly flexible material when cured, and it can be easily scratched by harder materials such as metal. Be sure to store your earrings carefully away from other metal jewelry and humidity (save the box they come in for easy storage)! Unlike ceramic or porcelain, polymer clay will not shatter if dropped, and bends before breaking -- but remember that metal parts and pearls CAN be damaged by being dropped. Please take care and keep in mind that each earring is handmade, wearable art.
Brass components may tarnish and darken over time if exposed to water and oils from the skin, but can be easily cleaned with a soft jewelry cloth and/or tarnish remover.
What is cellulose acetate? Is it sustainable?
Cellulose acetate is a plant based bio-plastic made from cotton and wood pulp fibers, so it’s biodegradable and sustainable! Our custom acetate pieces come from a European company that has been producing the highest quality acetate since the 19th century.
Cellulose acetate can look very similar to acrylic or resin, other popular materials for jewelry — but don’t let looks fool you. We chose to work with acetate over acrylic because of its unmatched sustainability and renewable characteristics. Unlike acrylic, cut-offs and scraps that are produced during the manufacturing process of cellulose acetate can be easily reused and recycled, producing much less waste.
