Received my new earrings today. I’m impressed with how quality they look and feel. Not heavy at all to wear. I love to mix my vintage with modern and these fit the bill. Terra-cotta/dark teal or Green/mint is my new fave color combo to wear!

Beautiful! I love them so much. I had received the exact pair as a gift previously, but lost them so I ordered them again. When they arrived, they were more pink than my previous pair, so the seller sent me a new pair :) They're so light and beautiful, I'm so happy to have them again.

Absolutely stunning. I’m so happy with this purchase! A welcome treat to myself during weird quarantine times. I’m looking forward to another buy in the future from this creative and talented maker.
Sculptural, dreamy, and effortlessly artful pieces inspired by the juxtaposition of modern design and old-world aesthetics
Established by designer Elyse Tolles in 2015, Elysian Theory is a small-batch accessories brand focused on creating modern jewelry for your pretty days.
Our designs are inspired by Art Deco elegance, the juxtaposition of contemporary design and old-world femininity, playing dress up, and the confidence that comes from looking your best. The antithesis to mass produced fast-fashion, Elysian Theory jewelry embodies intentionality and serves as wearable art. Each piece is made by hand in Annapolis, Maryland.
Founder and maker Elyse Tolles has been exploring the possibilities of polymer clay since 2015, and her work has been a driving force in the recent renaissance of polymer clay art throughout the United States. Elysian Theory has been featured in partnerships with Anthropologie and Michaels Stores, featured in Etsy's Featured Shops series, and chosen as a finalist in Etsy's first ever Design Awards, an international design competition.

Returns and exchange details
We accept returns of unworn jewelry in its original condition and packaging, and buyer must pay return shipping if a return is requested. If you do not contact us within three days of delivery, we will not issue refunds, grant returns, or mail replacements. If you're unhappy with your item once it is received, please let us know immediately so we can try to resolve any issue. Due to the nature of these specially handmade items, we do not accept returns or offer refunds on customized items except in the extremely rare case of damage during shipping.
All items are handmade, and therefore some small imperfections/inconsistencies (that fall within a normal range for a handmade item) may occur. Examples of these may include very small bubbles, slight variances of color from what appears on screen, slight variance in drop length, or other small marks that in no way affect the functionality or overall aesthetic appeal of an item. Baroque pearls often have natural blemishes, and the pearls you receive won't look exactly the same as the ones you see on the screen (that's the beauty of them!)
If you lose an earring, please contact us for the option to purchase one single earring to match the lost one.
Many styles of earrings may be fragile and delicate, and must be handled with care -- which means that if you bend the parts, scratch the surface, or pull roughly on the components attached with jump rings, they will likely break. Gold-filled wire and earring posts in particular are easily bent due to the softness of gold. We implore you to handle and store every piece carefully, but if something does break, please let us know! We are happy to replace (if possible) or repair your well-loved Elysian Theory pieces.
We are not liable for the amount of time the post office takes to scan in an item once it is dropped off, or if a package is lost by USPS, and will not give refunds on this basis. Once an item leaves our hands, we are not responsible for issues that may be caused by USPS, including delayed delivery, lost items, stolen items, etc. Please see the "shipping policies" section for further information.
I will honor requests to cancel orders within 24 hours of their purchase.
I will not cancel orders past 24 hours of placement for any reason. This is my standard policy, and I cannot make exceptions for cases of:
1. Failing to tell me that you needed an item by a specific date before purchasing it
2. Not reading the information on processing times, which can be found in each item description, the shop front page announcement, the confirmation of purchase email, AND the shop policies section.
We are unable to provide a guarantee for delivery dates, so please keep that in mind before purchasing gifts, and plan for the 7-10 business day processing time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request a customized item? What if it's something you don't have displayed in your store?
I generally do not take custom orders for earrings (including changing the colors of existing designs shown in my shop), but if you are a bride looking for custom bridal party earrings or a retailer interested in custom designs for wholesale, please send me a message. I reserve the right to accept customs on a case by case basis, and custom orders may incur extra charges.
Do you offer wholesale?
Please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to request wholesale information.
What's the deal with polymer clay?
Polymer clay is a moldable, sculptable type of vinyl that cures to a permanently hardened state with heat. Calling it "clay" is actually a bit of a misnomer, since it is in no way related to kiln-fired ceramic clay. It is extremely lightweight and bends before breaking, making it an ideal medium for many types and styles of jewelry. Each color of clay is individually mixed and pigmented in our studio before shapes are cut and sculpted. From there, we heat every small batch until the pieces are fully cured to a durable, slightly flexible permanent state. Once cooled, each piece goes through a rigorous finishing process that can include multiple rounds of polishing, sealing, and drilling.
When can I expect to receive my order?
Processing times (the amount of time from when your order is received to when it's shipped) are approximately 7-10 business days. If you need an item before a specific date, please send us a message before placing an order. Please note that unless a date is specified, items may take longer to process.
ALWAYS contact us directly if you need your item by a specific date, and we will try our best to get it to you by then (within reason). We are unable to guarantee specific delivery dates due to delayed USPS processing and delivery times.
My ears aren’t pierced. Do you offer clip-on earrings?
Right now I do not currently offer any clip-on earring styles, although I am working on some that may be released in the future!
How do I care for my earrings?
Polymer clay is a slightly flexible material when cured, and it can be easily scratched by harder materials such as metal. Be sure to store your earrings carefully away from other metal jewelry and humidity (save the box they come in for easy storage)! Unlike ceramic or porcelain, polymer clay will not shatter if dropped, and bends before breaking -- but remember that metal parts and pearls CAN be damaged by being dropped. Please take care and keep in mind that each earring is handmade, wearable art.
Brass components may tarnish and darken over time if exposed to water and oils from the skin, but can be easily cleaned with a soft jewelry cloth and/or tarnish remover.
What is cellulose acetate? Is it sustainable?
Cellulose acetate is a plant based bio-plastic made from cotton and wood pulp fibers, so it’s biodegradable and sustainable! Our custom acetate pieces come from a European company that has been producing the highest quality acetate since the 19th century.
Cellulose acetate can look very similar to acrylic or resin, other popular materials for jewelry — but don’t let looks fool you. We chose to work with acetate over acrylic because of its unmatched sustainability and renewable characteristics. Unlike acrylic, cut-offs and scraps that are produced during the manufacturing process of cellulose acetate can be easily reused and recycled, producing much less waste.
