Welcome to TikiTiger, your portal to exotic, extraordinary and unexpectedly kitschy-licious art deco and mid century collectibles and decor. I specialize in unique and hard-to-find 1950's lamps.
Once an order has been placed, payment must be received withing 24 hours, unless prior arrangements have been made. If payment is not received or being processed within 24 hours, the order will be cancelled and the item will be re-listed. If you wish to cancel an order, you must do so within 24 hours, otherwise the item will be shipped as ordered.
After an order has been placed, I may request/require a buyer's phone number and/or email address. This is dependent upon which shipping carrier is used--for the courier manifest--and for tracking updates / delivery contact purposes ONLY.
At my discretion, I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a purchase from anyone (new or repeat buyer) who has been unprofessional in their convos or otherwise or who does not fulfill their obligation (ie: pick up the package from the shipping depot or USPS if not at shipping address to accept delivery. Your transaction will be immediately cancelled, Etsy will be notified as to the reason and a refund will be issued. No exceptions. I treat my customers with utmost respect and expect the same. Thank you for your understanding.
••••• TURNAROUND •••••
Unless other arrangements have been made, all items will be shipped from North Vancouver, British Columbia within 3-5 business days (holidays excluded) of receiving cleared payment via PayPal, credit card or gift card. Please note that certain methods of payment (ie: bank transfer) may take up to 7 days to clear, thus delaying your order accordingly. I do welcome local pickups but I don't deliver!
••••• DESTINATIONS •••••
Unless otherwise noted, shipping rates in my listings apply to the CONTIGUOUS United States and Canada ONLY. For Alaska, Hawaii, and all off-shore U.S. territories and possessions, as well as all international destinations, you MUST contact me prior to purchase or I will cancel your order.
International shipping is entirely at my discretion, depending on kind of item, size, etc. In addition to Canada and continental USA, I will ship to the following countries ONLY:
• New Zealand • Australia • England • Germany • Austria • France • Switzerland • Holland and some other countries (convo me for more)
Sorry, but I will not ship to addresses in Asia, Africa, South America, Mexico / Central America, Russia and several other countries not listed. Convo me if unsure.
••••• RATES & SHIPPING TIMES •••••
If there is a shipping rate listed for an item, it has been estimated to the best of my ability. I do not charge extra fees for handling, packing materials, boxes or my time. Unfortunately, shipping domestically or to the US is expensive and is reflected in the shipping amounts. I simply cannot compete with, nor offer the same low rates as USPS and that's why I specialize in items that aren't often seen elsewhere. I refund all shipping overpayments greater than $2.00
If there is no shipping rate listed, that means I require the buyer's destination to determine the cost. This also applies to international inquiries (I will list the rate to your country only AFTER you convo me). Often I don't list a shipping rate for large, heavy or awkward items like chalkware lamps, for example. I might give an approximate range in the item description, but If you are a serious, potential buyer, feel free to convo me for a more accurate cost. Please be patient as it may take me up to a week to get back to you with a price. I will usually put a hold/reservation on the listing while I look into it for you. This is just a courtesy, not an obligation to buy.
** NEW INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING POLICY** For international customers, certain Canada Post shipping methods/rates (usually the lowest cost ones) do not offer the option of a tracking number or insurance. Because of recent losses in shipments and consequent seller liability, I will now only be able to send international packages WITH TRACKING AND INSURANCE. This method is quite expensive.
USA and International customers please note that ALL CUSTOMS & DUTY CHARGES (If applicable) are the BUYER'S responsibility. I will not list items as "gifts" on customs declaration forms as it is illegal and voids all insurance claims.
••••• CARRIERS •••••
I use Canada Post, FedEx, USPS** (rarely) and sometimes Purolator and Greyhound Bus (Canada only) to ship packages. The choice of carrier is at MY DISCRETION and is usually determined by buyer's location / destination, package size and not least of all, cost. Unlike with USPS, shipping from province to province or from Canada to the US is not a flat rate with Canada Post. I don't always know which carrier is the best choice until I have the buyer's address and have the item packed up and ready to go. For items shipping to the west coast of Canada and the western United States, couriers are quite often cheaper than the postal service.
The shipping rates in my listings reflect the lowest rate I am able to offer to the buyer. If a specific carrier is requested or unwanted, it is the buyer's responsibility to communicate this to me at time of purchase and, if applicable, cover any difference in cost. I am more than happy to work with you and find alternatives.
I will not send items valued at more than $45 without PROOF OF DELIVERY or signature upon delivery (whether it be by courier or the postal service). NO EXCEPTIONS. Please do not ask me to have FedEx leave the package on your porch. Not only will I not do this, but I will cancel our transaction if I feel intimidated into doing this. Please understand that I have no protection with either Etsy or Paypal or any recourse with Canada Post, FedEx, etc. in the event a package disappears and the buyer doesn't receive his/her purchase. I would be out-of-pocket for the cost of the item + shipping, as well as lose the product as well.

Refunds and Exchanges
Generally, I will not accept returns, except under rare circumstances. Return requests will be accepted within 14 days of shipping. A request does not automatically assure a return as each case is individual. I pack EXTREMELY WELL, so unless there is damage due to carrier negligence, return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and a refund will only be given on the price of the item. Please convo me before leaving negative feedback if you are unhappy with the transaction and I will do my best to work things out.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Layaway Plan Available (at my discretion):
• Layaway available on select items over $100. You can take up to 45 days to pay for items priced at $100-$250/ 90 days for items listed at more than $250.
• 25% down (total: item+shipping) required to hold the item.
• Balance must be paid in 45 days ($100-$250) or 90 days (more than $250) or the transaction will be forfeited.
• In the event of cancellation or a forfeiture, all money paid by the buyer will be refunded minus 5% to cover lost listing and transaction fees.
• Once the item is paid in full it will be shipped.
• No additional charges or penalties for layaway service.
• When you select an item for layaway, I will reserve the listing for you and change the listing price to 25% of the total amount.
• You then go ahead and make the purchase, which is the down payment.
• Every 15 days (or 30 days--for items over $250), I will post another reserved listing for 25% of the total, which will be the subsequent installments (payments 2-4). If you want to get the item sooner by making a larger payment, just convo me to let me know.
• When the 4th and final payment is received, the item ships immediately.
