FAQ's/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. I just made my purchase. Now what?
A: Once you have purchased your image, please email your specifications and materials to tillyclaires [!at] gmail.com. Please do not message via convo. We prefer email because we are able to get back to you much quicker via email.

We request that you add your first and last name in the subject bar on your email if possible as some customers have different names on their payment method than on their email accounts and this can be confusing. Thanks!

<SPECIFICATIONS & MATERIALS>
PLEASE SEND:

(1) PHOTO(S)
Your photos must be high resolution - at least 300dpi or higher. Tilly Claires will not be responsible for poor quality photos. By sending Tilly Claire's photos you agree that you are either the copyright holder or have permission from the copyright holder to use the picture.

(2) CUSTOM WORDING
Names, Dates, Personalized Info, Custom Greeting are free of charge.

(3) CUSTOM COLORS OR FONTS
Custom colors, photo edits or fonts will incur a custom fee $10 each.

We prefer that you send us a digital "swatch" (image) that contains the colors you would like to use OR we can match the colors to your clothing OR create the color scheme on our own if you do not have a swatch. Please note that color scheme edits fall into the 2 edit limit, so be sure to send us as much information as soon as possible on your color specifications so that we can make sure we capture what you see in your mind's eye!

Photo edits available: black & white, sepia, minor blemish touch ups for a custom fee of $10.

If you see a font that you would like to use in our shop, please let us know. Custom fonts are available for a custom fee of $10.

(4) SIZE & BLEED
Any size card is available free of charge. It is absolutely essential to send the size you would like to have the card printed at and whether or not you need it to be full bleed. PLEASE NOTE: a switch from a horizontal view to a vertical view will incur a custom fee of $10

(5) FORMAT
Please specify the format you would like to have your image saved in - ie. pdf, jpg or png, etc.

(6) ANY OTHER SPECIFICATIONS OR REQUESTS
Anything else you might want to request. We will let you know if it will incur a custom fee or not.

Q: When will I receive my proof?
A: Within 48 hours of purchase (and most times even less), you will receive a low resolution proof for you to double check. The 48 hours begins after purchase and at the time we receive all of your custom specifications and materials for the card. Please read more about turn around time below.

TURN AROUND TIME

Please note that our design work is done Monday-Friday. We are closed on weekends and National Holidays, including Thanksgiving weekend. Should your specifications and materials be received after 8am Mountain Standard Time on Friday, your 48 hour turn around will begin on the following Monday morning at 12:00am.

If you do not receive a proof within 48 hours, please contact us immediately via email (tillyclaires@gmail.com) to verify that we have received all of your custom specifications and materials for the card. Sometimes we find that customers accidentally overlook a specification or material and we are unable to produce a proof until we have everything. To assure this does not happen, please refer to the section on the listing called <SPECIFICATIONS & MATERIALS>

All of our design and editing work is done between 5am and 12am Mountain Standard Time, Monday thru Friday. If you would like to chat with us on Gmail regarding your design, please do so during these hours so we can respond promptly. Questions and concerns via email are also best during this time as we can serve you more promptly during our design hours.

Q: Where do I print my design?
A: Print at home or any other local shop such as Walmart, Walgreens, Target, Costco, Kinkos, etc. You can also use online stores such as Shutterfly and Snapfish. Our highest recommendation would be to print with Mpix.com. Print on either photo paper or card stock. Our recommendation would be to print on card stock, although you have both options. You can also use the design to print on any kind of photo gift you would like: canvas, fabric, mugs, t-shirts, etc.

NOTES ON PAPER QUALITY:
You want your cards to look professional. In order to assure this, we recommend printing on heavy matte bright white card stock (at least 90lbs -110lbs or heavier) for best printing results.

Q. Can you change the colors?
A. Yes. If you have a particular color scheme, let us know and we will customize the design to your liking for a custom fee of $10. We prefer that you send us a digital "swatch" (image) that contains the colors you would like to use OR we can match the colors to your clothing OR create the color scheme on our own if you do not have a swatch. Please note that color scheme edits fall into the 2 edit limit, so be sure to send us as much information as soon as possible on your color specifications so that we can make sure we capture what you see in your mind's eye!

Q. Can you change my picture to black and white?
A. Yes. Tilly Claires will change your picture to black and white, or sepia as well as make minor changes such as adjusting contrast and remove blemishes for a custom fee of $10.

Q. Can you change the wording?
A. Yes. Free of charge.

Q. Can you change the font?
A. Yes. Tilly Claires will be happy to customize your font for an custom fee of $10. If you see a font that you would like to use in our shop, please let us know.

Q. I like a particular design, but it is for wrong occasion.
A. We can change the occasion information to suit your needs.

Q. I don't see what I am looking for, but I like your style.
A. If you have a specific idea in mind, please convo me and I will be happy to create your design from scratch. Additional charges may be applied depending on complexity of request and/or ownership of design.

Q. How many edits can I make after I receive my proof?
A: At Tilly Claire's, our #1 priority is to see you satisfied with the outcome of your design, which is why we allow 2 edits after you have reviewed your proof. Please proofread very carefully! There will be a $10 fee for each additional edit.

Q: I saw my proof and I decided I liked another design in your shop better.
A: If, once you see your proof, you decide that you would like another design instead, you will need to purchase that design. Upon purchase you will receive another proof.

Q: Where do you recommend that I print?
A: Tilly Claire's recommends MPix.com for printing. You can find out how to get started with printing your custom card with MPix here:

PLEASE NOTE: The color of the final product may be off a little due to monitor screens and the variety of printing processes. All printers are not created equal. Choose a high quality printer to assure that your card meets your satisfaction. Tilly Claire's is not responsible for upload or printing mistakes of any kind, including but not limited to cropping errors, trouble uploading or color quality issues.

Q: I am having trouble uploading my file. Can you help
A: Yes. Tilly Claire's is happy to assist you with uploading your digital file. Please check our FAQS for questions about uploading first. If you are unable to find an answer in our FAQS, please email any questions to tillyclaires [!at] gmail.com.

Q: I don't want to mess with uploading. Can you upload my file for me?
A: Yes. Tilly Claire's will be happy to upload your file for you for a fee of $10. Please provide site and login information with your request.

Q: What is full bleed?
A: Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet before trimming. In other words, the bleed is the area to be trimmed off. The bleed is the part on the side of a document that gives the printer a small amount of space to account for movement of the paper, and design inconsistencies. Artwork and background colors can extend into the bleed area and after trimming, the bleed ensures that no unprinted edges occur in the final trimmed document. It is very difficult to print exactly to the edge of a sheet of paper/card, to achieve this it is necessary to print a slightly larger area than is needed and then trim the paper/card down to the required finished size. Images, background images and fills which are intended to extend to the edge of the page must be extended beyond the trim line to give a bleed.

Full bleed is printing from one edge of the paper to the other without the standard borders by which most personal printers are limited. This is useful for printing brochures, posters, and other marketing materials. Often the paper is trimmed after printing to ensure the ink runs fully to the edge and does not stop short of it.

Tilly Claires will need to know if you are printing in full bleed. All images will be cropped for full bleed automatically.
