Fun stuff for serious crafters

Having Asia's wonderful street markets on our doorstep is a wonderful way to go shopping, and a great excuse to travel the region! We manage to squeeze in about four or five buying trips per year so there are always new goodies on offer.

We sell in small quantities, which suits many crafters. However, some items are available to order in bulk. Please contact us to discuss and we'll quote you the best possible price.

Despite the name, Tintin Beads is not just about beads. It has grown to include items such as tassels, trims, Chinese knots, Indian sari borders, fabrics, knot cufflinks and 925 sterling silver pendants. And there are plans to include an even wider range of goods in the coming year so... watch this space!

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
We want everyone to be happy with their order. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us to advise return of goods. The item(s) must then be returned in their original condition within 14 days. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.

It is advisable to send any returns via registered mail as you can then see when we receive the goods. Once received, we will issue a full refund less the cost of the shipping. We do not charge a re-stocking fee.

If an item is damaged during shipping, we will need you to send clear photos of the damaged item. This is required by the post office for any claim.

Please note that cut ribbons, trim and fabrics cannot be returned unless faulty.

**::: WORLDWIDE SHIPPING! :::**

Goods are usually shipped within 1-2 working days of receiving payment. We do not ship on the weekend.

**::: SHIPPING :::**

Orders are sent international airmail via Hongkong Post. Packages to *most* locations take between 10-21 business days. Orders often arrive sooner than this but this is the official estimate from the post office.

Please understand that, occasionally, there are factors beyond our control such as severe weather conditions, postal delays/strikes and, of course, the busy holiday season. Please also understand that goods can occasionally be held for some time at international Customs. In case of such a delay, please be patient. This really is beyond our control!

During the lead up to the busy Christmas holiday season, please allow more time for your order to arrive. Inevitably, mail services are super-busy during this time and orders may take longer to be processed through their systems. If ordering during this time, it is advisable to include registered mail / e-Express with your order (link below), and to allow for a longer time frame for delivery.


**::: CUSTOMS / DUTIES :::**

We cannot be held responsible for any Customs duties and taxes incurred in your country. These will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Invoices are not included with orders unless requested, or required by the post office in the destination country. Invoices will be sent via email if required.


**::: REGISTERED MAIL / e-EXPRESS :::**

Goods can be shipped via registered airmail or via e-Express (e-Packet in the US) for an additional fee of US$2.50. In the case of Registered Mail, it will give you a tracking number, (provides only partial tracking in some countries, including the US and Canada) and will require a signature upon receipt of goods. Goods do not arrive any sooner, however it does provide an extra measure of security as the package can be traced by the relevant post office. In the case of e-Express, it provides detailed tracking and does not require a signature. It often shaves a couple of days off delivery time too, but this is not considered to be an expedited mail service. The listing for Registered Mail / e-Express can be found here:

In the event of a delay please contact us one calendar month after shipping so we can request a post office trace. Hongkong Post will contact the post office in the destination country to request information. It's a lengthy process, sometimes taking 6-8 weeks depending on the country. If the findings show that a package is lost, a replacement order or a full refund will be issued.

Please note that for standard airmail, registered mail and e-express, the Post Office cannot perform a trace after a period of 5 months.


**::: EXPEDITED SHIPPING :::**

Speedpost (EMS) is available. If required, please contact us so we can quote you the cost and delivery estimates. The cost is dependent on weight and destination. It's an expensive option, but is fast and very safe. More information can be found in the listing here:

If you have a company account with DHL or FedEx and wish to use it for your order, please contact us before purchasing.


**::: YOUR MAILING ADDRESS :::**

All items are shipped to the address that appears on your invoice. If items are returned due to the incorrect address being provided, shipping fees will need to be paid again by the purchaser. (If you have changed your delivery address, please be sure to update this information in ALL your accounts).


**::: RETURNS :::**

If a package is not claimed at its destination and is returned to us, we will let you know as soon as we receive it. You will be offered either a refund (less shipping costs), or the package can be re-shipped. In this case the customer will be responsible for the cost of re-shipping. Please note that trims cut to your specifications will be refunded for 50% of the sale value only.

If an item is returned for any reason other than the goods being faulty, you will need to contact us first to arrange this. Items must be returned in their original condition. Once the goods have been received, a refund for the order, less the cost of the shipping, will be issued.

**::: BULK ORDERS / WHOLESALE ORDERS :::**

Some items are available for bulk or wholesale orders. If you require an item in bulk, please contact us for information on availability and pricing and we'll see what we can do. Quantities necessary to qualify for bulk order discounts vary from item to item, usually starting at a minimum of 25 lots. If you can send a screen shot of your shopping cart we can proceed from there.

**::: TRIMS :::**

All trims come as one continuous length no matter how many yards you order. We may have more rolls of trim in stock. We can't always keep up with the changing stock and there may be more available. If you require more than is shown in the listing, please send a convo and we can check for you.

**::: CONTACT US :::**

If you need to contact us, please do so via conversations on Etsy. If you use an email address it often lands in junk mail and does not get seen. We will endeavour to respond within 1-2 days of receiving your message. Please understand that we may not respond during weekends.
