    Michael

    Owner, Maker, Customer Service

Hey, I’m Michael from NYC. I handcraft custom laser-engraved metal keycaps for mechanical keyboard lovers like me. I care about the feel, the weight, and the detail. Every cap I ship is something I’d proudly use on my own board.

Production partners

  • Etch Mark Forge

    Hong Kong

This compact engraving workshop takes my finalized keycap blanks to carry out high-precision laser etching, edge deburring and preliminary surface sanding. They execute all engraved patterns exactly as laid out in my design drafts without altering any artwork details.

  • Metl Cut Atelier

    Los Angeles, CA

This specialized metal machining studio follows my detailed CAD design files to perform CNC rough cutting and blank shaping for aluminum and zinc alloy keycap blanks. They strictly stick to my dimensional tolerances to guarantee uniform base shapes for every custom keycap piece.

Frequently asked questions

What materials are your keycaps made of?

Our keycaps are crafted from high-quality metals, primarily aluminum alloy (6061 or similar) and zinc alloy. These materials are selected for their balance of durability, finish quality, and tactile feedback. Aluminum offers a lightweight yet premium feel with excellent corrosion resistance, while zinc alloy provides a slightly heavier weight and denser texture. All keycaps are CNC-machined and then laser-engraved for long-lasting detailing that won’t fade over time.

Are your keycaps compatible with my keyboard?

Our keycaps are designed to fit most MX-style mechanical switches, including Cherry MX, Gateron, Kailh, and similar clones. The stems are precision-machined to ensure a snug but non-damaging fit. If you’re using a keyboard with optical switches, Topre, or low-profile mechanisms, our keycaps may not be compatible. Please feel free to message us with your keyboard model — we’re happy to confirm compatibility before you order.

What’s special about laser engraving compared to regular printing?

Laser engraving physically etches the surface of the metal, meaning your design is permanently engraved and won’t rub off or fade like printed or painted graphics. This process also allows for highly detailed, clean lines — perfect for logos, symbols, or intricate art. Unlike pad printing or UV printing, laser engraving resists wear from heavy daily use, and it maintains its visual clarity even after years of typing or gaming.

Can I request a custom design or symbol?

Yes, we love custom projects! Whether it’s a gamer tag, personal logo, character symbol, or themed design, we can help bring your vision to life. We’ll work with you on feasibility, provide digital mockups, and confirm layout and placement before engraving. There may be a small design fee depending on complexity. Note that custom orders may take additional time (usually 3-5 business days).

Will your keycaps affect typing feel or switch performance?

Our metal keycaps are slightly heavier than standard plastic caps, which can slightly deepen the sound and enhance tactile feedback for some switches, especially linear types. They’re popular as accent caps (like ESC, Enter, or Space) for this reason. We machine the stems to tight tolerances to ensure they fit securely without damaging your switches or creating wobble. For full-metal keysets, we recommend lubing your switches to balance the added weight.

How do I clean and care for metal keycaps?

Metal keycaps are generally very easy to maintain. For regular cleaning, a dry microfiber cloth works great. For fingerprints, use a slightly damp cloth or isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, which can scratch or dull the engraved surface. If you’re storing them, wrap them individually or place them in a padded tray to avoid surface friction.

Do you ship internationally? What should I know about customs?

Yes, we ship worldwide. For international buyers, please be aware that customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations. These fees are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included in our prices. Delivery time varies by region, but most international orders arrive within 7–15 business days after shipment. If you're in a hurry or need express shipping, contact us for a quote.

What should I do if my keycap arrives damaged or doesn’t fit?

We take pride in our secure packaging, but if your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days with clear photos. We'll either send a replacement or issue a refund, depending on the situation. If the fit isn't right, we’ll help you troubleshoot and, if needed, adjust the stem or replace the cap at no extra cost. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship.

Do you offer bulk discounts or group buys?

Yes, we offer discounts for bulk orders (10+ pieces) or group buys for communities, teams, and keyboard clubs. We can customize engraving per member, offer themed sets, or even create limited-edition runs. For inquiries, please message us with your quantity, timeline, and any design ideas. We love working on collaborative projects!

Can I collaborate with TitanKeyMods as an artist or brand?

We’re always open to collaborations with designers, streamers, content creators, and brands. If you have an idea for a capsule collection, limited-edition design, or want to include our caps in your build showcase, shoot us a message. We can offer white-label engraving or co-branded packaging and are happy to discuss licensing or artist compensation.
