The Scandinavian indigenous nomadic nature folk's craft - Pewter Embroidery on reindeer leather.

All designs can be ordered in 30 different leather colors, with embellishment with spun pewter-, copper- or 14k gold-filled braids ... and of course in your size.

PEWTER EMBROIDERY HAS BEEN PREVALENT AMONG THE SAMI PEOPLE, SINCE THE 1600s.
In the 1800s it went a little into oblivion, but was revived in the 1960s, where also the manufacture of the special spun Sami pewter thread, became more mechanical. Before it was manually drawn through smaller and smaller holes in a piece of reindeer antler, and then handspun around reindeer tendons.
Today, only a few in Lapland, still produce the authentic spun pewter-, copper- and gold-filled thread.

I CREATE MY DESIGNS, EXCLUSIVELY WITH THE ORIGINAL MATERIALS FROM LAPLAND IN NORTHERN SWEDEN:
* Vegetable tanned Reindeer leather or Lambskin.
* Spun Pewter thread (with 4% silver), spun Copper thread and 14k Gold-filled thread.
* Handcut Reindeer antler buttons, from natural shed antlers.
Also;
* 14k Gold filled, Sterling Silver, Copper and various Gemstone beads.

I BECAME FASCINATED BY THIS NORDIC CRAFT, when I, many years ago, found an old Swedish book on 'Sameslöjd', and taught myself to create these unique pieces of jewelry, by studying old books, booklets and photos. I love to create new designs.

I HAVE MORE THAN 12 YEARS EXPERIENCE, AND HAVE SINCE 2010 SOLD TO 45 COUNTRIES ALL OVER THE WORLD.
