Announcement   Glass Art - every piece of etched, carved, painted, fused and slumped glass is hand-crafted from start to finish in my cozy studio on Whidbey Island in Washington State.

Take your time, browse around and enjoy all the shiny things - and please come back soon to see new items. I hope you find something you like. For more about my shop, take a peek at my Profile and Shop Policies.

The glass landscapes are made from particles and threads of colored glass - they are constructed in layers and each layer is fired in the kiln to melt everything together. They have between three and eight layers and have been fired multiple times.

Sgraffito glass is a special technique I use to make glass designs that look like block prints. Kiln-carved glass is melted over a pattern to make a glass surface that looks like it was carved. Etched glass has designs that are made with a sandblasting resist and then the piece is sand-carved in a sandblasting cabinet. Watch for an experiment or two popping up in the shop - sometimes there are surprises!

Check out my web site, too, for larger size glass particle paintings and this year's art fair schedule - StephMader.com.

As usual, you need to see this in person to appreciate all the nuances of this adorable wall vase. When I unwrapped it, I admit I shouted, "Oh! That's SO CUTE!" Thanks to Steph for a wonderful piece, secure wrapping, fast shipping, and the BEST customer service and communication.

I don't have the words to express how much we love this bowl. It is truly one of our most cherished possessions. Steph is an artist, a very kind and generous human, and just the best of the best. We have every hope of filling our home with her wonderfully unique works of art. She has brightened our lives more than I can say, and I hope we've developed a long-lasting friendship. Thank you, dear Steph, for everything. xoxoxo

What a gorgeous creation this is! As good as the photo is, it's even more amazing in person. We will cherish Steph's beautiful peony forever. What a terrific way to enhance our lives. As always, many MANY thanks, Steph!

WELCOME to the Tolt River Studios Shop. I love a happy customer and do my best to make sure my glass pieces are just right. Please note that bubbles and other variations are natural in a handmade glass piece; they are the marks of the heat of the kiln and the maker’s hand.

If you have any questions, please contact me by clicking the “contact ToltRiverStudios” link to the right.

Shipping
I ship items Monday through Friday, so your purchase should ship within three days of payment. If you need it in a hurry or have other requests, please contact me; I’m happy to help.

Please make sure the “ship to” address in your Etsy account is the same as your PayPal “ship to” address, so it’s clear where I should ship the item. I’m happy to include a personal message from you and add gift wrap, if the item is a gift.
