Our Story

Bon Fire Craft is owned and operated by metalsmith Emily Sajban. She earned her BFA degree in Art/Metals at SUNY New Paltz in 2005. After receiving her art education she worked in the industry for several years. In May of 2008 she opened her own retail shop Torch Song Metals with Ashley Harris, her college friend and business partner. After 6 wonderful years they decided to close down Torch Song to journey to new locations and start their own independent companies. Ashley now crafts her beautiful creations at Ivy & Gold Handcraft and is based out of Chicago, Illinois. Emily continues to carry the flame with her new company Bon Fire in Buffalo, NY. The two friends still chat regularly about life and metal and encourage each other in all their smithing adventures.

I accept PayPal, Etsy direct checkout, money orders, and cashier's checks. Please note that if you pay with PayPal or direct checkout I can ship your order much quicker! If you send a money order or cashier check we must both patiently wait for the transaction to clear before anything can go in the mail. Just fine with me as long as you aren't in a hurry :)
All domestic orders are all shipped via USPS with delivery confirmation. I will combine shipping cost for multiple purchases. Orders will be processed 1-5 days after payment, Monday to Friday, unless otherwise stated in the listing. Production time on custom orders begins after payment has been completed. I will not process or ship any orders on national holidays since the post office is closed; however, if you need an item within a certain window of time (ie – a rush delivery in time for a birthday or holiday), please contact us first and we will work together to make your deadline. I am happy to price out expedited shipping to you.

Please note that if you are outside the United States, we will send your order via USPS international first class and shipping can take 1-6 weeks to arrive at your door depending on your location. Please be patient - usually customs is responsible for the delay.

Refunds and Exchanges
Returns are evaluated on a case by case basis but I am flexible and will work with you if an issue arises. If for some reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact me within 7 days of receiving your item and we can discus whether an exchange or refund is in order. In the case of a return I will refund your money (minus ship and handling cost) or offer you store credit for an exchange upon receipt of the item(s) in original condition. Custom work and special orders are non-refundable and are not eligible for exchange.

All proofs of shipment (printed receipts from the post office) are filed and kept for six months or until you contact me confirming that your jewelry has arrived. If you suspect your pieces were lost in the mail; please wait an adequate amount of time before contacting me. I will then submit a claim to USPS, and only after they confirm will I send you a new item free of charge. This is to protect myself from false claims and to protect you from losing your item without reimbursement or a replacement.
Additional policies and FAQs

All silver Bon Fire Craft jewelry is cast or fabricated from solid sterling. Sterling silver (.925) is comprised of 925 parts fine (pure) silver and 75 parts copper- it is completely NICKEL-FREE and will not give you a allergic reaction. Be reminded that some pieces are purposely antiqued (patinaed, oxidzed) in various degrees for stylistic affect. Some pieces with lots of direct contact with the skin (such as a ring) may loose a little of their oxidation on you, but it is not harmful and will wash off. Bright polished silver may be cleaned with a liquid silver polish, whereas antiqued pieces should should only be shined with a soft silver polishing cloth. Pieces that contain pearls or soft stones should not be dipped in a chemical cleaner. I recommend that you do not wear any pieces in the shower or a chlorinated pool since the chlorine can alter the oxidization levels. I also recommend that you do not sleep in your jewelry because it can become entangled, snagged, and possibly broken – which isn't good for you or your jewelry. Any other metals used (such as brass and copper) can cause green staining on the skin, but it is harmless and will wash off with soap and water. If you are concerned about a metal reaction or have other jewelry care questions please contact us first.
