Announcement   Are you in search of artisan jewelry creations which will provide thoughtful gift solutions or special additions to your own collection? If so, consider browsing here. My designs are original, many components are created in my own studio or handmade by talented glass, metal and ceramic artisans. At Touch of Silver you’ll find copper and sterling silver dangle earrings, beaded bracelets and necklaces, as well as chainmaille and leather jewelry. Hammered metal jewelry has wide rustic appeal and I love hammering sterling silver, copper and brass, and combining them to create casual mixed metal jewelry. If you're a lover of Southwestern designs, they can be found here. Simple styles abound, and if petite, small scale jewelry holds special appeal, you will have numerous choices.

Received these very special earrings today and couldn't be happier! Loving the mix of silver and gold and the overall smaller size which is perfect for me. Another ETSY ooak purchase and it won't be my last. Thanks so much Barbara!

Such a great find! Shipped immediately and arrived quickly. The earrings are gorgeous, even nicer than the pictures, and are obviously high quality. I bought them for my mom and she loved them. She had compliments on them before we made it out of the restaurant. Thanks!

Getting a few new items created:. Hand-etched copper discs, abalone earrings, some sterling sticks, dark iridescent patina on textured copper, and a lampwork glass bar pendant. All coming soon:)
While wondering if purple is still the new black, I got out some amethyst and tried to decide. Because I discovered that I have 4 times the amount of amethyst as I do black onyx, it must be so! Purple lovers, check out this sterling and amethyst bracelet.
This morning I did some copper oxidizing which really makes embossed designs pop and show off their detail... Fun!

About

Inspiration from the natural world around me, brings life and color to my jewelry creations.

Choosing accessories is truly personal - each piece of jewelry, each scarf, each purse, and each pair of shoes says something about our personality and how we want others to see us. For as many different styles as there are, there is a corresponding artisan who has a passion to create for that special niche.

The handmade movement has captured the talents of many of these artists and in 2006, I became one of them. I retired from my ‘day job’ to devote more of my time to jewelry design using silver, copper, brass, leather, ceramics and gemstones.

But are you ever curious about what influences an artist to create what they do? For me, my love of nature and the outdoors are always at the fore. I live in a snow belt and for many months see lots of neutral colors, not dull and boring, but soft hues of dusky brown, slate grey and creamy white….just like in the rich, earthy jaspers.

And then the landscape transitions and out come the brighter, bolder colors. I love to beachcomb by the ocean waves, work in my garden, and hike amidst the fall foliage, all of which provide the “color” spark for inspiration when I begin the design process. My thoughts naturally turn to texture….whether it be the soft feel of moss or the hammered surface of silver, color….whether it be the crimson of an autumn leaf or the rich blue of a lapis stone, and light….whether it be the gradual sunrise across a Spring field or the iridescence of a labradorite cabochon. When I sit down to create something new, my goal is to capture these characteristics and find just the right union of the three. It’s a great way to start each day!

I am a member of SRAJD, Self Representing Artists in Jewelry Design. The SRAJD is an international organization of jewelry designers who create and sell their own jewelry. When you purchase from an SRAJD member, you are buying directly from and supporting the artist. It is the mission of the SRAJD organization to raise awareness of the benefits of buying directly from the artist. We also work as a community to help, nurture, instruct, and encourage one another.

Enjoy browsing my shop and knowing a bit about how natural beauty helped these creations come to life. I hope you'll find a piece to brighten your day.

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

There will be an anti-tarnish strip included with your jewelry which will minimize the oxidation of the metal for months. The strips can be purchased on line when you need to replenish. Warm mild soapy water cleans off most buildup of dirt, lotions and sprays. Make sure the jewelry is totally dry before putting it back in your storage bag. Hanging the jewelry for 24-48 hours usually does the trick. A jeweler's cloth works well to bring back the shine of many metals, and you can get them online or at most jewelry stores. In general, resist the urge to use silver polish on metal jewelry which contains gemstones; it has the potential to cause damage.

Care for pearl and shell jewelry will be sent with your purchase.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Your jewelry will come gift wrapped at no extra charge.
