I shoot what I love and this image is no exception. I get excited whenever dogwood season rolls around so to know that a photograph I created, something I love, has brought this much joy to a family who is missing the dogwood they loved. heartheart

About

From Corporate Girl to Independent Creative... Life Through a Lens

I have always been creative, in one way or another, for as long as I can remember. From giving an Oscar worthy performance as Dorothy in my own production of "The Wizard of Oz" (seriously, I held auditions) at recess in elementary school, to cooking up a storm for friends as an adult, my left-handed mentality comes out in a number of ways on a daily basis.

I spent sixteen years working in a conservative, corporate environment, where, sadly, my creative side didn't get exercised often enough. About a decade ago, I started traveling more and, as a result, started documenting my trips with photographs. I fell in love with photography as a creative medium and it quickly became my main way of expressing myself. (my father was a photography hobbyist and I'm convinced I inherited some sort of shutterbug gene)

I started my business in 2009 as a way of releasing some of my creative energy. I wasn't sure what to expect but the last several years have been amazing. I get to travel the world with camera in hand... does it get any better? Combine my love of travel with my love of the city of Chicago and all it's retro goodness and I am a happy, happy shutterbug.

I have had the privilege of having my work on HGTV, the local news here in Chicago, west elm blog, Live Creating Yourself, Sweet Paul and in room redesigns on HGTV.com. I am excited to announce my work will also be seen on the set of, "Teachers," on TV Land and will soon be seen on the set of, "Chicago PD" on NBC.

I very proudly create all of my products by hand in my Rogers Park studio in Chicago. I truly feel quality, original art should be enjoyed by all and not just a select few so I strive to keep my prices reasonable without sacrificing quality. I am looking forward to many more years in this life of mine, here in Chicago, along with my husband, Joe, who is a full time painter, and our two weird but highly entertaining felines, Jack and Charlie.

If you're in the Chicagoland area, please feel free to stop by my space at the Andersonville Galleria or click on the local markets link in my Etsy shop to find out what shows and festivals I will be participating in.

Thank you for stopping by!

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

All sizes listed are for the image itself. Photographs are sold unframed and unmatted. Please see the drop down boxes in each listing for medium to large sizes available. Smaller sizes can be ordered using the listings in the "Additional Sizes" section.

Custom and personalized orders

I welcome custom orders. If you have a particular size in mind, or would like a custom wood block, please contact me and I will help you in any way I can.

Wood Photo Blocks and Panels

All of my images are available on ready to hang, hand mounted wood photo blocks. Please see the "Wood Mounted Photography" section for the sizes available. Please note, some images are square and some are rectangular. It is always best to mount them the same way, to avoid cropping, however if you would like to explore other options, please feel free to contact me.

Care for Wood Photo Blocks and Panels

Please note, like any art, the wood blocks and panels can be damaged by excess handling, dropping them, extreme weather, etc. For proper care, please be advised of the following:

- They should be dusted with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use cleaning products or damp cloths on them.

- I do not recommend keeping these blocks in a very steamy bathroom because it will effect the coating on the block.

- All of my images are printed on extremely durable, archival metallic paper however, like any photographic paper, long term exposure to direct sunlight is not advisable.
