"Trauertaube": trower-towbeh
Mourning Dove
Nestled in a small "High Peaks" Adirondack hamlet, surrounded by inspiration from local history, old pine trees, clear waters of head-waters of some of New York's greatest lakes and rivers, we're off the main thoroughfares, a little place you might happen upon if you got turned round and find yourself at the riverbank where the air is fresh with the scent of ferns, pines and and full of the sounds of doves, finches and a breath-taking eagle. Creations are inspired by the flavors of the North Country of New York and some of the remote regions of Vermont. This little "shop" is a way to share, with the world, the delights of a calmer life without the travel and the rush and hassle of the "tourist" areas. "One of a kind" items, made with heart, and sometimes, those "oddities" usually found in old barns ("mountain finds").
But our ultimate "Mission" is to bring to the world, a better understanding of an oft-misunderstood but truly precious little gift to this world: the almost common Mourning Dove. Though seen as merely "there", these little bundles of feathered love and brilliance are harbingers of great peace and delight. Often thought of as "nervous" and "skittish", the can become quite the cherished companions and sources of amazement. Our creations tend to centre on these gems of Creation, portraying them in a multitude of media created with love, by hand (and computer), one-of-a-kind gifts for self and others.
