Playing with fire
How did I come about the idea of vintage inspired candles? Honestly, I don't know, call it Devine inspiration if you like, but one day the idea just seemed to come to me, fully formed. I guess it makes sense, even as a child I have always loved playing with fire. I could not wait to take charge of the fireplace in winter or add little sticks and dried leaves from all over the garden to my dad's barbeque flames, candle making seems like a natural evolution from there. Antique and vintage items have always been a passion of mine and I love browsing the markets, their nod to the glamour of yesteryear inspires my imagination. Above all I am very passionate about natural products that are safe for humans and better for the environment. This is true of the products I make and the ones I buy for use in my own house. The candles I make are from natural soy wax that burns clean without toxins and minimal soot. All candle scents are sourced in France, essential oil based and free from CMR substances and phthalates. I wanted to make an enjoyable luxury product, free of guilt.
