17 and Learning the Ropes
Después de mudarme a una granja en las montañas, me convertí en la hija de un apicultor y dueña de ponis. Aprendí mucho sobre los animales y la vida en una granja, pero sobre todo aprendí que podía crear cosas. Mi tienda comenzó cuando me interesé en las telas y decidí que mis ponis necesitaban ropa. Aprendí a tejer viendo videos de YouTube, y aprendí a coser usando la vieja máquina de coser Singer de mi madre, y nació mi obsesión. Sin embargo, no solo quería que se vieran adorables, ¡quería que se sintieran bien por dentro y supieran que los amaba! Quería que tuvieran cosas deliciosas y saludables para comer, así que me mudé a la cocina y aprendí a hornear.
Con la ayuda de mis padres, he podido crear trajes de ponis, aprender a enlatar frutas y verduras, inventar recetas para TODOS nuestros animales y aumentar mi aprecio por nuestra tierra y sus ofrendas. A través de esa reflexión, he podido mirar al pasado y he llegado a admirar cosas pasadas, y tiendo a no poder pasar por encima de ninguna prenda que veo de otra época sin que mágicamente termine en nuestra sala de estar. De ahí mi colección de ropa vintage que encontrarás en mi tienda. Me doy cuenta de que hay otros de ustedes que son como yo, y estoy feliz de compartir mis tesoros con ustedes.
Mi tienda ofrece una variedad de golosinas en diferentes épocas del año. La mayoría de mis artículos son únicos, así que si ves algo que AMAS, hazlo, ya que generalmente no hay otro como él.
Hago mis artículos de punto a medida, así que si ves algo que te encanta pero te gustaría en un color diferente, házmelo saber, y estaré encantado de hacer todo lo posible para hacerlo para ti.
En el otoño y el invierno, ofrezco conservas enlatadas y mermeladas. Mi granja familiar cultiva higos, moras, uvas muscadine, fresas y melocotones. También tenemos abejas que producen miel cosechada en la primavera. Está a la venta localmente, durante los meses de junio a agosto, hasta agotar existencias.
After moving to a farm in the mountains, I became the daughter of a beekeeper and the owner of ponies. I learned a lot about animals and life on a farm, but I mostly learned that I could create things. My shop began when I got interested in fabrics and decided that my ponies needed clothes. I taught myself to knit by watching YouTube videos, and I learned to sew using my mothers old Singer sewing machine, and my obsession was born. However, not only did I want them to look adorable, I wanted them to feel good on the inside and know that I loved them! I wanted them to have yummy, healthy things to eat, so I moved into the kitchen and taught myself to bake.
With the help of my parents, I have been able to create pony outfits, learn to can fruits and veggies, invent recipes for ALL of our animals, and grow my appreciation for our land and its offerings. Through that reflection, I have been able to look to the past and have come to admire things gone by, and tend to not be able to walk past any garment that I see from another era without it magically ending up in our living room. Hence my collection of vintage clothing that you will find in my shop. I realize that there are others of you who are like me, and I am happy to share my treasures with you.
My shop offers a variety of goodies at different times in the year. Most of my items are one-of-a-kind, so if you see something you LOVE, go for it, as there is not usually another one like it.
I do custom make my knit items, so if you see something you love but would like it in a different color, just let me know, and I will be happy to do my best to make it for you.
In the fall and winter, I offer canned preserves and jams. My family farm grows figs, blackberries, muscadine grapes, strawberries, and peaches. We also have honeybees that produce honey harvested in the spring. It is for sale locally, during the months of June through August, while supplies last.
