How I got started
I've always had an interest in coins and metal forging. When I was a little boy my grandfather showed me a ring which he hammered from a silver coin and I was fascinated. One Christmas my wife gave me a coin ring as a gift which was made by a friend and it re-sparked my interest. I started to make a few for her and myself to see if I could and continued to refine my process. After a lot of practice I was very pleased with the results. After showing them to some friends I found there were many that wanted me to make one for them. I then decided that my hobby could support a side business. Here we are... however it goes, I will have fun doing it!
Coin rings have a timeless quality that attracts both jewelry enthusiasts and coin collectors alike.
You ever hear the phrase 'The Devil is in the details...'? This is very true. All of our double sided coin rings are incredibly detailed inside and out. I usually use mint quality coins to start with plus my process for turning the coin has been mastered to maintain all the interesting details of the coin. Many coin rings you see will have very little detail on the inside due to tool abrasion in the stretching process but rest assured your ring will have crisp detail all around.
ABOUT THESE RINGS:
Each ring starts with a hand-selected quality coin of your choosing, then using techniques perfected through lots of practice, the flat, round coin is crafted and shaped into a ring like that pictured above. It is then sized and finished, either polished to a high gloss or accent polished to retain the coin's natural patina (toning). We apply a clear jewelry sealer to coin rings made from non-precious metals like nickel, copper and brass. This helps preserve the finish and makes it possible to wear these rings even if you are normally sensitive or react to these metals. Our preference is to try and stick with 90% silver coins which have the best results and will stay beautiful for many years.
We make rings from a wide variety of U.S. and foreign coins and dates. Just let us know what you had in mind and we can likely accommodate. We can fit Men and Women from size 4-14 (in 1/4 size increments).
* Quarters can be made into sizes 4 - 11
* Half Dollars into sizes 8.5 -14
* Small Dollars into sizes 7 - 11
* Other coins (just ask)

5 out of 5 starsAmazing work and great customer service. John went above and beyond helping create a ring that my husband would love and that fit perfectly. I cannot recommend this shop enough. My husband loves the ring and it is all thanks to John creating a one of a kind ring and working with me to make sure the product was what we wanted. I will definitely look for other gifts from this shop!
