This bracelet is a beautiful shade, and the clasp is easy to maneuver one-handed.
From Seed Bead Weaving to Wire Wrapping to Metalsmithing
After inheriting my mother's seed bead collection in the early 1990s, I began my jewelry-making career by teaching myself bead weaving. Gradually adding stones and precious metals to my creations, the resulting nature-themed jewelry was primarily for personal use and gifts.
But upon my retirement from academia in 2009, I was able to expand and hone my skills daily. With the addition of wire-wrapping to my repertoire, I opened an online shop and participated in regional and local arts and craft shows and fairs in Texas. Within a year, I also opened this Etsy shop.
Influenced by academia (teaching middle and high-school science, then higher education writing and editing), my world travels, personal involvement in environmental organizations, and professional research and publications on environmental education and rhetoric, you will find my shop organized by ecosystem.
Why Treehugger? As you can see in my shop photos, my inspiration comes from nature. Whether hugging majestic trees, strolling under a forest canopy, wading along the edges of ocean waves, climbing desert formations to view petroglyphs, or simply walking down an urban street, nature comes alive ONLY if we take time to notice and protect it.
(In addition to online sales, my jewelry art is displayed in shops in Taos, NM. Passionate about working/playing with stones, and inspired by fellow Etsy artists, my current personal challenge is learning and applying new techniques.)

Owner, Sole Proprietor
After making jewelry from seed beads and natural stones as gifts and for personal use for over a decade, upon retiring from academia in 2009, I invested in this shop, where I continue to nurture my love of working with stones and precious metals.
