Elk glas-in-lood item is individueel handgemaakt, varieert per kleur, vorm, grootte. Deze glaskunst is beïnvloed door de wabi-sabi Japanse esthetiek. Positieve en negatieve ruimte is ook belangrijk voor elke glas-in-lood creatie. Eén glasplaat kan centimeter voor centimeter sterk variëren en het is in deze prachtige imperfecties, waar de kunst zijn meest uniek aantrekkelijke eigenschappen krijgt.

In dat citaat ontmoette ik mijn beste vriend die veel gelach, creatief denken en prachtige handgemaakte geschenken heeft geïnspireerd.
Als kind waren Glitter & Rainbows mijn favoriete dingen om mee te versieren. Op ALLES. Tot groot ongenoegen van mijn Moeder. Glitter, de herpes van ambachten, kwam wel overal in huis terecht. De liefde is niet verdwenen, maar wordt nu slechts spaarzaam gebruikt in bepaalde sieraden.
Deze twee vrouwen zijn de push & inspiratie geweest achter de creatie van deze glas-in-lood items.
Mijn moeder is een kunstenaar die me in staat heeft gesteld om te sleutelen en elk ambacht te leren dat ze opneemt. Daarom leerde ik 14 jaar geleden de kunst van glas-in-lood toen ze naar festivals ging om handgemaakte goederen te verkopen. Ik zou verjaardagscadeaus maken voor mijn beste vriendin en vanaf haar 25e verjaardag werden deze creaties geboren.

In that quote, I met my best friend who has inspired much laughter, creative thought & beautiful handmade gifts.
As a child, Glitter & Rainbows were my favorite things to decorate with. On EVERYTHING. Much to the dismay of my Mother. Glitter, being the herpes of crafts, did end up all over the house. The love has not dissipated, but is only used sparingly in certain jewelry pieces now.
Those two women have been the push & inspiration behind the creation of these stained glass items.
My Mother is an artist who has allowed me to tinker & learn every single craft she takes up. Therefore I learned the art of Stained Glass 14 years ago when she would attend festivals to sell handmade goods. I would create birthday gifts for my best friend & from her 25th birthday these creations were born.
