After deleting all my listings, I am happy to report that although Etsy Service is slow as frozen molasses, they were able to restore my deleted listings. It is a manual process on their side and so it took awhile. Her work made my day so much better. I will not do that again.

Also, there is a sister store I would suggest you check out. There will be more cool stuff going up in that store (StandpipeAntiques) in the coming days. I am separating out the items I list for myself vs the items I list for my family. They can ship together.

I am running both Etsy shops so you know the level of service you get will be just as excellent.

About

Rounding out the plants with interesting stuff.

I love plants. I love weird containers to put plants in. I love interesting furniture to put the weird containers with the awesome plants in it on. Oh yes, and I enjoy sprucing up the area surrounding the awesome plant in the weird container on the interesting furniture with strange and cool tchotchke.

In collaboration with Standpipe Antiques, I am going to be adding all sorts of strange and cool stuff, old, very old, vintage, new(ish), and new to my listings. I will, of course, combine shipping as much as I can.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

The majority of plants used in general applications have these general requirements. Exceptions always exist!

Shade or Part Shade:
Light: Indirect light. Can handle some morning sun. No afternoon sun or the leaves will burn!
Water: When the very top 1/2 inch or so is dry. About every 1-2 weeks

Bright or Part Sun:
Light: NEED some morning sun. No afternoon sun or the leaves will burn!
Water: When the top 2 inches is mostly dry. About every 1-3 weeks depending on how much light, more light = more frequent watering.

Full or Succulent:
Light: Needs lots of morning sun. CAN handle afternoon sun, though part shade in summer is best.
Water: Allow to dry considerably between waterings. About every 3-4 weeks at most.

Wholesale availability

I can source whole trays of plugs. Availability is dependent upon the grower. I have a greatly discounted per unit price for the trays.

I can also potentially source other items as well. If you email me with the item description you are looking for, I can see if i can purchase it wholesale.

The more items you get of a type, the less the per unit price.

This only applies to new items, vintage items can not be sourced.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Plants do not do well gift wrapped. They need light and water. The other items I have, however, could be gift wrapped. Just send me an email inquiry and I can go over the details.

Overwatered Plant

Just like yourself, plants have a preference of soil, light, and water amounts. Some plants prefer always wet soils such as those trees in ponds and fish tanks, others like to be chapped lip and cracked skin dry, such as cacti. Luckily, plants that like dryer environments also tend to prefer brighter light and vice versa. This makes it easy to remember how to water your plant by just knowing what kind of light it needs.

Overwatering: This is the biggest death of house plants. There are not very many plants that survive being in a bog. IF YOU OVERWATER, you need to dry the soil out a little faster. The easiest way is to move it to a draftier or brighter area. Do NOT move your plant to an area with afternoon sun (unless it is a succulent).

Shipping

We ship USPS and FedEx. Though larger items may go by LTL. We try to keep the shipping cost as low as we can but still maintain integrity of items. Plants, for instance, will be shipped priority or first class even though ground is cheaper.

Excess shipping charges will be refunded if over $1 and in increments of $0.25.

Freight Damage:

Please document any damage to packages prior to opening. Remittance procedures can not start or even be considered if there is no evidence of a problem. Claims of damage due to shipping are the buyer's responsibility. The shipping services will only work with the receiver of the package. I will not refund your item price due to shipper negligence. Document everything!

Care instructions

Wool Rugs

Vacuum regularly! Do not have the brush going though. Just the suction.

If you spill something, blot clean immediately! Do not use harsh cleansers, just think of it as your favorite expensive clothing item. Look into vinegar solutions and have a bottle mixed up and handy for every party.

If you do these things, you shouldn't have to get a professional cleaning done very often. Wool rugs are sturdy (just look at how old they are!) and will last a long time with just these two simple rules.

If you need more thorough information on cleaning your rug, there are a few websites out there that have a ton of Dos and Don'ts from people far more knowledgeable than I.

Care instructions

Cane Furniture

Wipe down with a damp cloth once a week. Do not oil. Seriously. Cane needs moisture to stay nice and tight. If you let it get dry, it will break. It can be expensive to replace.

Care instructions

Wood and leather

Keeping it oiled, but not too oiled, is helpful in maintaining that beautiful glow. Wiping it down with the requisite cleanser once a month or so helps keep your furniture looking good.
