About

Unique handmade gifts from cork, meant to encourage and inspire you to abide with the True Vine.

Hi! I’m Sasha. With two short a‘s. Welcome to True Vine Gifts!

Why True Vine Gifts?

I get asked this from time to time when folks see my creations. I live in the deep south. The Bible Belt. Wine is not only looked on with skepticism among many of the believers I’ve spent my life with, it’s consumption at any level is viewed as straight up sin.

How could I make something from a product so volatile among believers in my community, and attach a name to it that speaks of Jesus. I’ve been told it’s a contradiction.

I don’t think so.

My family is no stranger to alcoholism. I’m not being naive. I understand the power it can have. I think more than anything that is the very reason I chose the name.

God is bigger than that power. He can heal the damage it does.

Abide in Him. He IS the wine. Be filled with the Spirit. (John 15, Matthew 26, Ephesians 5)

With TrueVineGifts, I get to do a little redeeming to symbolize the redemption I have in my own life through Christ. He takes the ugly and makes it beautiful again. My art speaks of that and I think of it every time I make something new.

As my little business begins to take off, I think of another aspect of the gift. My family has needed a little extra income during a few thin years.

“She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. “
Proverbs 31:16

My first piece was made for a charity auction that MiddlePlaces.com (my other writing gig) did to raise money for Rapha House. An auction to help redeem those the world saw as less than. It wasn’t long after that I began toying with some of the left over corks I had from that project. From that, TrueVineGifts was born. I love creating pieces, especially jewelry that remind others and myself of what it is to Abide in the Creator.
