About

After trying to do anything but art Erika Rier has settled down to art full time

Erika Rier started life out in New England. As a child she was thought of as a writer but she secretly wanted to be a visual artist. She spent her teens experimenting with writing and visual art mediums. Into her 20′s she painted in oils and continued moving around New England.

In her early 20′s she settled down in Brooklyn, NY. One day she decided to stop painting and to only draw. Since that day she has focused on drawing highly detailed pieces inspired mostly by dreams. She still plays around with paint but only small gouache paintings.

To support her art aspirations Erika has run many businesses, worked many jobs, and continues to do much freelance work. She ran her clothing business Mellifluous Couture for many years. She has also ran a gallery named Tumbleweed & Poppleswamp in Patagonia, AZ. She was certified as a Health Coach and has worked with many clients. Freelance projects have included ad design, logo design, marketing consulting, business coaching, and custom illustration projects.

These days Erika is committed to doing all art, all of the time. She spends her days drawing and her nights dreaming new content for her pieces in Portland, OR.
