TupperwareParty Etsy: Selling Stashes, Abandoned Hobbies
Simply put, we started our little Etsy store to sell our stash.
We had every intention on using our lovingly acquired fabrics for bespoke quilts and charming crafts. With retirement on the horizon, we knew we needed to start setting up for hobbies, activities, and social stuff. Between our collective handiness and love for art, we thought this would be a fun way to do something creative together and envisioned miles of tediously pieced masterpieces that would win us Grandparents of the Year. Until we had to actually do the things.
As it turns out, we are much better at collecting than doing. While we still occasionally sew (poorly, mostly for family or charity fundraisers), we find the act of cutting up perfectly good fabric and piecing it together again quite tedious. Don't get us wrong--we had loads of fun buying the stuff, but the "doing the things" part just never really fermented. And while our love for useless hobbies grew, our tiny condo did not. And so the bitty Etsy store was born.
We have so much fun selling our lovingly acquired stash--you have no idea how happy it makes us to know that somewhere out there is a person who likes our stuff just as much as we did. We add items slowly and sporadically, and we try to add a personal touch to every order (because life is short, and making people happy feels nice). Our prices are generally based on what we paid originally (thank God we are not wholesalers) and we will sometimes cut a deal for people if they ask really nicely, preferably in the form of a limerick. In a way, Etsy is a hobby for us.
So for the four people out there who are reading this, we hope you have fun browsing our tiny Etsy store. We promise to use the proceeds to fund more hobbies (or a nice trip, or wine).
Enjoy the stash!
