The decals are great and just as pictured, although I actually imagined them to be smaller. I ended up placing them on my Surface Pro 4 case and they look great!

About

Ever improving me

My mom taught me to sew and crochet in my late teens, but I only dabbled. I was given my first sewing machine for Christmas in 2003, but only used it to mend a hem if I decided staples weren't going to cut it. I never considered myself to be very creative. I liked to write and draw and throw clay, but I felt I was mediocre and paled next to the uber craftiness of my mom and siblings. I was ok being brainy.

Then I met the man I married and he would come home from work asking me to sew things for him. "You can sew this patch on right?" I never had the heart to tell him that my skills were barely home ec worthy, so I would do what he asked and I soon realized that if I could sew to military standards then I could sew anything and from there my interest in crafting took hold.

In 2008 we found ourselves pregnant with the turkey and I knew I wanted to do cloth diapers and set out on my research. I was disappointed that there wasn't anything local to show me the way and we decided that surely we weren't the only family in the area who needed a local resource, so we opened Sweet Camo and provided Anchorage with a cloth diapering renvue. In my store I also offered my own items. Cloth diapering led our family on an adventure towards full self sustainablity. I love to see how much I can do myself and keep my foot print on the earth as small as possible while providing a natural life for my boys.

Several years later our family was faced with unforseeable circumstances and I found myself and my kids moving across the country and losing everything we'd worked so hard for. Turk and Bean is the picking up of pieces and looking towards the future, it's taking what we have now and making it better. Unable to work outside the home do to the special needs of my son this allows me to provide for my children.

The boys play an active role in running my shop. They help with product development and trips to the post office. Our family is our focus. We spend our Fridays playing board games and sharing popcorn or homemade pizza. We pray together, cry together, play together, and thrive together. Everyday is a new adventure and we hope to share that journey with each of our customers.
