Hello and welcome! In my shop, you can find lampwork beads and jewellery, fused glass and ceramics. I create glass beads, focals, sets, sculptural beads, design my own jewellery and use lots of silver! I also make a range of kiln-formed and ceramic items, including bowls.
My jewellery designs are mainly statement pieces but there are lots of everyday pieces too! I am a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers and also of SRAJD and also of GBUK, plus British Lampwork.
All pieces are unique - for my lampwork creations, I hand shape all beads and you will never find machine made items amongst my designs. Everything I make is a product of my own imagination. I make limited edition collections with a theme or style and can make custom designs.
The materials I use are glass (Effetre, Riechenbach, CiM, Double Helix, Kuglar, TAG104 & Vetrofond plus Northstar) sterling silver (925), fine silver (999), silver clay (fine silver), bronze & copper clay, swarovski crystals, copper, brass and a limited amount of silver coated white copper core wire. Nickel is not used in the construction of my pieces. All earring wires and studs are sterling silver or vermeil and most are hand-crafted.
In addition to lampwork, I also make fused glass creations and ceramics.
I can be found at events all over the UK and I close my shop when I do this, so if something disappears, it means it has been sold.
My signature pieces are the Goddess sculptural beads, Dragon Eyes, Flower necklaces and glass bowls.
I have been asked many times if could design and make particular beads so Please feel free to contact me with any questions and if you require a bespoke piece of jewellery or beads. I also make memorial beads. Please message me if you require this service.
I can offer special signed for next day delivery with insurance. and all items are delivered to you. If you would like this option, please mail me and I can arrange this for you.
I keep my prices down and care for the environment by using recycled packaging. If you want your item gift wrapped, please message me to arrange.
I have a studio, based in Quex Park Craft Village in Birchington Kent where I melt glass, show my work and offer one to one lampwork and fusing tuition. If you would like to purchase a lampwork tuition voucher, please contact me for details and a custom listing.
Thank you for visiting!

5 out of 5 starsAmazing focal bead. I die cut leather scales, boiled and moulded them, hand painted then stitched them into hand marbled leather. Turning this perfect bead into a little dragon shadow box. Thank you

Glass beads and small sculptures
Jo Turner is a flamework artist and jewellery designer, specialising in glass and fine silver.
She works from her studio on the Kent coast where she creates flame-worked art glass collections and sculptural fine silver pieces.
For the last six years, Jo has been designing and creating lampwork beads and art jewellery and has a following in the United States, in addition to clients all over England and Europe. Many of her beads are in collections.
A specialised blowtorch is used to melt glass to make all of the lampwork beads for the collections. The glass creations are then kiln annealed to alleviate stresses built up in the glass during the making process and to ensure strength and durability.
All of her pieces are one of a kind. She offers a design service if there is something special you would like made.
She is passionate about glass and lampworking, which is an ancient art and beads made of glass have been discovered that are over 5,000 years old. Although some of the equipment is different, the methods are essentially the same. Her inspiration can come from something as simple as a shadow or reflection to a complex scene or animal. Shape, colour and balance are the most important aspects of her work.
Jo also makes kiln-formed creations, thrown and hand-built ceramics and makes all her own glazes.

Glass is my passion! I love it and am always pushing the boundaries - I work with soft glass but dabble in borosilicate too. I work from a cosy little studio by the sea, not far from the Kent coast so there is always lots of inspiration!

You can always be assured of a high quality piece designed to stand the test of time.
It is always my priority to provide you with a pleasant shopping experience, and I welcome constructive feedback and suggestions.
