About TurquoiseArtisans

Sales 127
On Etsy since 2017

Honoring old world crafts techniques in Turquoise's Artisans as introduce them to other cultures around the world.

After completion of my engineering career, I decided to curate Turquoise Artisans the lost artisans of Turkey. The word “turquoise” is a French term meaning “Turkish” because the turquoise stone was first bought to Europe through Turkey, from mines in the historical Khorasan Province of Persia. We learned from our mothers, grandmothers, and fathers in Turkey, to create for ourselves rather than to purchase in a store. The old world sophistication and designs stayed with us in memories such as listening to family stories at night cuddled in a family made blanket, or shopping with grandma/grandpa to pick out fibers, fabrics, and materials for something she/he will teach us to make. Our primary goal is to honor old world crafts techniques as introduce them to other cultures around the world with our designs.

Here at Turquoise Artisans I design and create handmade items such as drawstring project bags, cotton market/beach/project bags, pouches, knitted handbags, purses. I also carry woven pestemals/towels, yarns, and accessories. All my products are created by hand with love and passion for making you feel special and unique.

I can also custom some of the gift items. HOW? Visit my shop to choose your favorite item and email me how would you like to customize your piece.

This is what I wish to share with my customers as I bring my products to life. Behind every handcrafted creation of Turquoise Artisans will be a story... and, it will begin with you. Let me help to foster my dreams carrying the ancient crafts for future generations to enjoy.

Sincerely,
Kybele
